GTA V PS4 vs. XBO 1080p Direct-Feed Image Comparison Shows Visual Parity Among Both Platforms

GearNuke: "Considering the fact that the game is going to be released on the PS4 and Xbox One, and runs at native 1080p on both of them, it is interesting to see if both versions have any difference between them."

What the hell is up with the X1 captures here? It looks really washed-out. Looks like the PS4 is set to full RGB, while the X1 is set to limited.

As usual, we'll have to wait for DF for a fair analysis...

Death3457d ago

This is weird, http://n4g.com/news/1622900...

I wonder if the vid in the link is labeled correctly. It shows the PS4 version being cloudy. It's the opposite of the screen grabs.

OB1Biker3457d ago

Scoop: dont trust internet video and pics. Thats why DF first hand analysis is useful

SonofGod3457d ago

Gearnuke must have made a switch by mistake, usually the XO has more contrast, not the other way around.

GarrusVakarian3457d ago (Edited 3457d ago )

Yeah, that's strange. Either way, though, neither console should have washed-out visuals to the extent of those captures. Both consoles should be set to the same RGB settings when being compared. If you have your console set to 'full' RGB, and your TV can support a full RGB signal, then you should never get washed out visuals.

It's either a problem with the capture equipment, or the consoles RGB settings are different.

But hey, at least they used direct-feed PNG captures...not 1080p YouTube stills like Gamingbolt do. Lol.

Wintersun6163457d ago

It's Gamingbolt. I wouldn't be surprised at all, if they tried their everything to make the PS4 seem worse. Albeit, whichever version looks foggier, I think this is a non-issue. IIRC, the game has brightness and contrast settings in the pause menu. By changing them around, you could probably make the two versions identical.

Gonna have to wait for DF because you cant tell the difference. (fixed)

GarrusVakarian3457d ago (Edited 3457d ago )

...But I clearly can tell the difference because I literally JUST SAID that the X1 version looks washed out, yet the PS4 shots don't. That's telling a difference between brightness/contrast. Lol. The only reason I say wait for DF is because they usually make sure the RGB settings are the same for both consoles. Hence why I said we'll have to wait for a "fair" analysis.

Sites like this one always end up messing something up, which results in an unfair comparison. And in this case, they've portrayed the X1 version unfairly.

Did you even read my comment before bitterly attempting to call me out? I'm getting pretty sick and tired of people like you who can't let go of a grudge, bitterly calling me out at every opportunity you get. Add to that a lack of reading comprehension, and yeah...it gets pretty annoying.

iistuii3457d ago (Edited 3457d ago )

@Lukas Why wait for DF, you won't be buying the X1 version so why worry about it being washed out.

GarrusVakarian3457d ago (Edited 3457d ago )

Another bitter reply, lol. I'm flattered.

To answer your question: Simply because I enjoy DF articles, which are usually fair in the way the analysis is carried out. I enjoy the technical side of videogames too, and I enjoy reading about the results of each analysis.

So if this site is portraying a certain version unfairly, which in thise case is the X1 version, it's natural I'm going to say "wait for DF", because they usually provide a fair comparison. But not only a fair one, a much more in-depth one too.

Is that a good enough answer, Sir?

Oh, and you're right about me not buying the X1 version. All of my friend are buying it for PS4, so why would I?

Angeljuice3457d ago

He started by saying they look different and that one set of pictures looks washed out, to which he received Industrial scale denial from blind fan bots.
I say blind, maybe they just have cataracts and see everything in a washed-out haze. Whatever the reason, there is a huge difference in the pictures that a lot of people are pretending not to see.

The difference may well be a contrast or RGB setting as Lukas suggested, he never even suggested that the X1 version was inferior, he simply stated that one set of pictures looks washed out (which it does to anybody with working eyes).

AutoCad3457d ago

Indeed lets wait for DF to say PS4 version has FR issues.

moegooner883457d ago

Lukas if I had a dollar for every time you got an Xbox fanboy panties in a bunch, I would afford all the microtranscrions in EA games.

Volkama3457d ago

Not true. It is not possible to "afford all the micro-transactions", because the most successful and evil ones are 'consumable' and can be repeat-purchased to infinity.

Apologies for killing a decent joke with over-analysis, but I hate micro-transactions :(

cyclindk3457d ago

Why you gotta bring EA into this dawg? :)

kenwonobi3457d ago

Translation "Ps4 version looks better" again.

Yea x1 looks washed out here, but i suspect its gearnukes fault

ainTgoTTime2bleed3457d ago

Well, according to gearnuke.com site is.. before=XBONE and after=PS4;)

Xavior_Reigns3457d ago (Edited 3457d ago )

XBO version looks horrible here compared to the PS4 one. I certainly hope this is an error and that it does in fact look better, no reason why it shouldn't. However if it's real, well its just one more reminder that resolution doesn't determine graphical fidelity.

LOL! @ Disagrees (I don't get it, I'm not even trolling or anything such geez.)

Whirlwind_Fanfare_083457d ago

Welcome to N4G, where it don't matter if you're not trolling, you still get disagreed for no reason. Even if you are telling the truth.

OT: I'll wait for digital foundry's take up on this.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing6912d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos12d ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
