There’s a glimmer of hope for a new Langrisser, a tactical RPG series that ended with the Wonderswan game, Langrisser Millennium WS: The Last Century. Video game company Extreme who makes moe mahjong games made an agreement with Nippon Computer Systems to handle licensing for the entire Masaya catalog.
This includes bizarre beefy shooter Cho Aniki, Gley Lancer, the Assault Suits mecha series. Dracule, makers of Gunhound EX, already announced a PlayStation 4 version of Assault Suits Leynos aka Target Earth in the West.
CCG writes - "Gleylancer was released in 1992 on the Sega Mega Drive in Japan. The story takes place in 2025 which isn’t that far away. Sadly, we are not anywhere near their expectations when it comes to spaceships, space armies/federations, or colonies. Lucia is a 16-year-old star fighter pilot whose high-ranking father and his crew are warped out of combat by an invading alien race. In order to rescue him, Lucia commandeers a prototype ship called the Gleylancer. The ship was supposed to be named Greylancer but was mistranslated."
"Is it November already? You know what that means; it's time to shine the spotlight on the very best indie games from October. Hooray!" - A.J. Maciejewski from Video Chums
Gleylancer is a previously Japan-only gem of a game that is a great pickup for both retro shooter fans and casual players.
