...but Gears of War is still the most visually impressive and brutal games on any console to date. It's such an in your face experience that is still second to none.

The PS3 has yet to be graced with such a game and the only thing I can think of that looks to be coming close would be Killzone 2, even though its a FPS.

Heck, if you're gonna hit disagree then please state why. Which game on the PS3 do you think matches Gears of War in terms of tone and brutality?

The first Gears of War (when it was released) was visually the best looking thing on the market and on top of that it had very solid game play and a pretty good multi-player aspect!

I have played everyone of those game's on a 40" Samsung 25,000:1 contrast ratio lcd and those game's are not near that clean. Yes those game's look good, but that are no way near that clean. I have played alot of game's on both system's and still have to say gear's rank's top graphic wise to me.

In all honesty, the first GeOW is still at the top in graphics, but now with other games such as Uncharted and MAYBE MGS4 (I personally don't like MGS4 but its graphics are pretty good, different, but good).

So if GeOW2 is only slightly improved with its graphics, it will be the best out there IMO.

On a side note, it's nice to see some 360 and PS3 backers actually conversing politely and not doing the usual "XBOX BLOWS!!" or "PS3 SUCKS!!!".

At least when I play it in terms of tone I have none and brutality yeah its pretty bad. I must say though on topic if host advantage and those glitches are taken care of this will be my favorite game. I loved gears but to many glitches and host advantage killed it for me. Not to mention if you go on a run in a match were your kickin ass the people were giant cry babys and would boot you. 2 out of those 3 things fixed ill be very happy

Its actually kind of fun. What i have noticed to is the game looks a lot better than gears of war 2. Way more colors and the vehicles in ut3 are crazy.. A lot more going on to in UT3 too.. From the weapons, vehicles, and all the effects flying around the screen.. The blood effects look better in gears 2 but other than that ut3 owns it.

UT3 just needs a better blood mod and a chainsaw mod and we have gears 2 but better....

is that they fail to see fault in their supported company, games and console but they see even the most minute artifact in their counterpart's games, consoles and companies.

As a PS3, I will criticize PS3 games and praise excellent 360 games.
I know you all do it but won't admit.

Here some facts that every fanboy with functioning eyes and occipatal lobes of the cerebral cortex will agree with but some might contest:

Resistance 2 seems more of a worthy oponent to Gears 2 in comparison to Resistance 1 and Gears 1.

Gears 2 looks great but still looks like its predecessor and so does Resistance 2 but Resistance 2 has improved the most; resistance 1 was graphically inferior to Gears 1 and now R2 and GeOW2 are more on the same level graphically speaking.

Lair was horrible and so was Haze.

Multiplatform games are becoming more indistinguishable in respect to platform.

Triple A exclusive disparity between PS3 and Xbox 360 are almost non-existent.

Xbox 360 and PS3 are excellent consoles but both have their shortcomings.

GOW2 looks exellent, they have just taken everything that was great about the 1st and improved it a good 50% IMO.

Actually that is a a lot of detail. The surfaces look amazing, and it's the best looking console game yet. It certain has Gears beat in graphics, story, and campaign, but Gears has it beat hands down in multiplayer. They're both the very top of their class at what they do best so stop your BS the lot of you, and grow up.

However, it doesn't seem that much different than the first Gears of War. It could almost be mistaken for an expansion pack, with new characters, levels, etc. However, the first games' gameplay was so fun, I know i'll enjoy this one. I just don't expect that drastic of an improvement over the first title other than slightly better graphics, and a few new moves like Chainsaw dueling.

Xbox 360 owners have an excellent title to look forward this winter.

I liked the original GoW a lot, and my only problem with it was multiplayer related. Gears of War 2 seems to be fixing most of my major concerns, and improving upon everything the first game introduced.

I find it really weird how people tend to attack one game after another. For example I liked Gears graphic and to this day I think it's the best game even after MGS4 and I'm a big MGS fan.

The thing is that Gears places me in a world of chaos and it sets the mood perfectly. Of course it's not gonna be colorful like Uncharted because Gears is trying to set the theme of Doom. You won't get that with pretty colors so it's an obvious choice of browns, gray and such.

MGS4 did that as well, especially on the first stage, look at it it's all yellow, messed up buildings but it's not as colorful as Uncharted diff game trying to set a Mood. And to tell you the truth the first stage in MGS4 is my fave stage.

As far as uncharted goes, I has good graphics but I feel the characters are more bland mind you I'm not talking about environment mostly characters.

As far as gameplay goes do this in Uncharted. Walk to a wall you would take cover and instead of attaching yourself to the wall just get reeeeaal close. As far as the game is concerned if your crosshair is outside the wall "IT WILL HIT" Try that with any other game and you hit the wall. Thus making the cover system useless.

I finished the game without using the cover system and with no online play in reality Uncharted falls short.

I still think Ratchet and Clank have better graphics and gameplay than Uncharted.

This is just my opinion about GeOW and Uncharted
