How the Warcraft movie makes one film out of a universe of stories

GamesBeat: "World of Warcraft has a ... problem,” director Duncan Jones said, “in that it’s got so many stories. It’s been going for 10 years, and Warcraft itself has been going for 20 years. I wonder if this brings in mainstream viewers when it debuts in March 2016?

They'd better hope it does. There's only around 7 million WoW subscribers, and 7 million tickets sold isn't exactly box office gold.

No, but that would be a damn good start, considering many other movies don't start off anything close to that.

It's not that relevant . There arent even currently 7 millions people following monthly books releases of Batman and Avengers books , and yet look at the box office result .

The brand still had tons of mainstream recognition , the rest will be marketing and the quality of the movie itself and/or its appeal

It's probably just going to clump a load of the stories together and have really cool references shoved in it here and there.

Is this film really gonna come out? Like really?

Physco3463d ago

Its really a difficult to make one movie from different stories

Kingdomcome2473463d ago

I've never played W.O.W, but I'd watch this in a heartbeat. A buddy of mine that played a lot also read the books as well, and turned me onto them. Incredible fantasy books. Especially the story of Arthus.
