I do agree with him, a great game is a great game, no matter what. But there's only so many of them coming out every years. (read: only a few)
On the other side, I game with user created content is usually a longer lasting game. There's always some better maps coming out. Or even a totally new game... Playing Lego or Mario on UT3 is a typical example. Not games you would play for months, but definitively something worth spending a few hours on, everytime some mods that crazy comes out.
It's not about the platform not being able to take it...cuz both xbox and ps3 UT3 have User Created...but I do agree with it does add a lasting factor for the game
