Readers Gambit | Lords of the Fallen (Review)

An in-depth look at Lords of the Fallen by Readers Gambit. It's the kind of game that punishes you and leaves you begging for more. It takes some key points from the Souls series and makes it its own with a great take on some conventional systems.

(Disclaimer: This is a retail copy and the day one 5gb was applied to the game prior to review. No Embargo was agreed.)

Disagree vote probably misunderstand. They ve been very cool in most of their interviews and indeed have huge respect for the genre

Finally get my PS4 RPG fix. Not counting Diablo because of the cross gen thing.

Reading the review, it sounded like it was going to be an 8+. Guess he dinged them for the length?

Esler3472d ago

Thanks for reading dude. The game ended up at a 7 instead of an 8 due to numerous crashes. These crashes really ruined a lot of the experience.

There are obvious camera issues when in right corridors and at times you can find it difficult locking on the the correct target, which can be vital.

Lastly there was the actual length of the game. A skilled and smart player could definitely finish this easily in 8-10 with deaths included. I spent so much time in my save because I was toying with different builds. The game world is really small and it didn't really feel like it was big enough. The maze like quality gives you the impression it might be big but the reality of the situation was it was really small.

Hopefully they'll fix the crash issues soon. I heard the game was short but figurer I'd buy it anyway. Want something to fill the void before bloodborne launches in February.

Hoping I can play at midnight tonight! Anyone know if steam lets you preload yet? As of yesterday I couldn't.

8-10 hours is not bad, especially if there is a good NG+. Crashes, though, are a big problem. Depending on how bad it is crashing, it might be even a deal breaker for me - which is too bad, since from the review, it sounds as an amazing game! Any news on an patch yet?

Sad to see the crash issues even after the Day 1 patch.

Bobby Kotex3471d ago

@CharlesCarmichael the Souls games are 50+ hour games before you hit NG+. Since this game is influenced by them, it make sense to mention the length.
