MSN's Gaming Goss looks at what made WoW a success and asks: 'When will it begin to fade away?'
Blizzard Entertainment has announced the opening of beta registrations for “World of Warcraft: The War Within,” inviting players to explore new subterranean worlds beneath Azeroth.
Danish from eXputer: "Despite Blizzard's attempt to give a fresh new spin to World of Warcraft, some fans still seem to be stuck in the past."
HG writes: "Blizzard is usually pretty bad at keeping secrets, but the company somehow managed to keep this one under wraps until now. Plunderstorm is a special limited-time event that’s basically World of Warcraft’s take on the Battle Royale genre."
NO - the first mmorpg Ultimate Online is still alive... I could never see WoW go before that old dog.
why is Ultimate Online not even mentioned?
Im not a fan of WoW in the slightest, but it definitely has the numbers over UO. Besides, WoW has a much better learning curve and is more accessible to casual gamers and non gamers. you dont get 10 million subscriptions from the hardcore audience.
WoW will not die as long as Chuck Norris is still in the game.
EDIT: now that I think about it, Chuck Norris died 10 years ago, but the Grim Reaper can't get up the courage to tell him.
At one point in time EverQuest was THE MMORPG that everyone knew about. It was the only MMORPG worth playing and everyone who was anyone had a character on it. It went on for years as the King of Massively Multiplayer Online Games.
Now who talks about it? Who plays it? Who remembers it? It wasn't but a few years ago that World of Warcraft knocked EverQuest off its throne. So who is to say that can't happen again?
HOW CAN YOU KILL THAT WHICH HAS NO LIFE?
