"Sony Computer Entertainment has announced PS Vita and PlayStation TV Phantasy Star Nova Limited Edition consoles for Japan.
Due out on November 27, the PS Vita will be available in white and black models, while the PlayStation TV will only be available in white. Both are decorated with goggle-wearing Rappys and include a product code to download a Phantasy Star Nova system theme (pictured below) that will go live in December. A special message card and original strap are also included.
The PS Vita Phantasy Star Nova Limited Edition will cost 20,980 yen and the PlayStation TV Limited Edition will be available in a 16,280 yen value pack (DualShock 3 and 8GB memory card included) or 11,480 yen standard pack."
VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "Many would argue – and I wouldn’t really disagree – that the PlayStation Vita never really had a killer app. There wasn’t that one piece of software that helped change the console’s fortunes. The closest we got was arguably Persona 4 Golden, an early release that received huge critical acclaim, but it was part of a niche series and as such its sales impact from a hardware perspective was muted.
There were missed opportunities along the way, as certain titles had the potential to change the Vita’s fortunes, but the way the final product was delivered (if indeed it was delivered at all) left a lot to be desired and so they didn’t reach their full potential. It’s these games I’m aiming to look at this in this article – 10 games that were missed opportunities on Vita. I’m not saying that every release I’ll be talking out here had the potential to be a “killer app”, but if they had been executed a little better they would have undoubtedly been a key factor in helping the console reach a wider audience."
My soul still aches over the idea of making 3D Dot Game Heroes a Vita series never happening after the dev studio expressed interest in doing so. Could've been a flagship for it, or at least carried it a bit further.
The vita contributed to the ps3 having less support from Japanese devs. I hope sony keep focusing on one console at time like they are now in the future
Man, Phantasy Star can be confusing. There are so many different kinds of games in this series, but they all get tossed under the same umbrella. The oldest games are turn-based RPGs. The newer ones vary between MMOs and action-RPGs. Wouldn’t it be nice if things were simplified...
Phantasy Star online episode 1 and 2 is one my all time favorites. Just make that better...
What I need to know is when is Sega going to make and release Phantasy Star 5. All I need to know.
"Phantasy Star Online 2 (GameCube, 2012)"
May want to change that to (PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch, Android, PC and iOS, 2012)
I need to know when the fuck SEGA is gonna wake up and make a full on PSO 3 with the unreal 4 engine or some shit so I can get lost in the best god damn futuristic world with my pet mag as their god-tier PSO themed music blasts my ear drums forever and ever.
Wake the hell up SEGA, the time is NOW!
The Twitch app has arrived on the PlayStation store for both the PS Vita and the PlayStation TV, due to hardware restrictions you will be unable to broadcast from the device however the app enables Vita and PlayStation TV owners to watch streams without having to use the browser. The app itself is 16.7MB and requires a Vita Memory card
I want a Killzone Mercenary PSTV that just has the glowing orange eyes on it. That would be great.
@Vongruetz
it would be pretty Cool no doubt, but also maybe like this

put on a airbrush vinyl kit that you can add to any of the playstation TV systems with.
This is very welcome, PS Vita sells have dipped over 10K in Japan so it needs a boost to get it up and running again. Hope this does well.
