Joystiq: "Call of Duty: World at War began life right after Call of Duty 3, before Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was released. So, following this logic, "there was no modern warfare" when World at War was conceived, Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia told Joystiq, responding to skeptics who fear that the series' return to World War II will be a return to mediocrity. In fact, Call of Duty's "B Team" alternate developer doesn't consider its next entry a rehash at all. "We don't really look at it like we're going back to World War II," said Lamia. "For [Treyarch], it's totally new."
Lamia pointed to World at War's two-year development cycle as a key factor; a full 12 months more than the team had to complete Call of Duty 3, which, while by no means a commercial or critical failure, stands as a definitive low point for the franchise. "When you got one year, you do what you know, and get it done well -- don't mess around. When you got two years, you have a chance to introduce new gameplay, new elements.""
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.
A very devoted fan of Call of Duty: World at War racks up incredible in-game stats while playing regularly for the past 15 years.
Of course you will hit a ridiculous stat after 15 of anything.
My main character for Everquest had over 500 days played in the first 6 years of the game. I was young then and had a lot of time on my hands. I don’t think I could duplicate that again until I retire and not sure I could match it if I tried.
Gamespot : Call of Duty: Vanguard launches with 20 multiplayer maps, three of which are actually remakes from 2008's Call of Duty: World at War. Let's take a look at how the maps have changed with this side-by-side comparison.
Yeah it is, who are they kidding?
Treyarch had one year with COD3 unlike Infinity Ward with COD4. Infinity Ward hasn't always got it right, COD2 is garbage compared to COD4. COD5 will probably be better than COD3, and there is no reason for all the douches that hate Treyarch for them to know how good or bad will these game be. Not surprising anyway, after all gaming is crowded with fanboyism, hate, idiocy and stupidity.
Oh god that was good for a laugh. You know this game is going to be awful, if the developers are already spouting crap like this it really doesn't bode well for it.
They kind of missed the point of it, we don't care if they are going forward, backwards, up, down or sideways towards WW2. We are getting SICK of WW2 games. That is the KEY issue we don't want yet another WW2 game.
cod5 has been confirmed in ww2 so for that alone i am not bying it, ...if cod6 is scf i or morden or future then i will by it, i just dont play games set in ww1 or ww2 any more, cod4, killzone2, r2, gears 2 and mgs4 will be enough shooting i need.
yea play dumb
