I really hope all this stuff is true, I can't wait for a new raid. Had so much fun in VoG and the new one is supposed to be even better.

Christopher3509d ago

I hope not. Hunter subclass looks pointless in PvP and PvE. Damage is king, not CC. We already have one subclass that has a super that's pretty useless in raids due to having to be in melee range for a good amount of time (I use it only for invisibility since if I get in melee range... I typically dead) and another where you expect the golden gun to do some real damage when it outputs less than my sniper rifle (though, it at least can one-hit kill in PvP if you hit your target).

I just hope they do some rebalancing on the core stats of the classes. As it is, they really don't matter that much from having one maxed or one zero'd out.

BlackWolf123509d ago (Edited 3509d ago )

You're wrong. Damage is not king.

Both Warlock and Titan have Supers which provide buffs for all fireteam members, as well as other benefits which are not direct damage. A CC Super would be awesome and complete the trinity perfectly.

I can see that Super working brilliantly in both PVP and PVE.

Conzul3509d ago (Edited 3509d ago )

I agree. The new Hunter looks really unappealing.
More than half of his abilities can be effectively pulled off with the existing Warlock Void Grenade. You can use it to block passages and slow enemy progress already.

The new Warlock and Titan look great though. Can't wait for new Raid. This time I wanna do it first with people who haven't done it at all. Want the wonder, even if it means dying a lot.

VoG I always knew in advance what would happen, and all the guides have neutered its difficulty.

dumahim3509d ago

I don't doubt a new subclass at all. If you look at your character screen, it looks like there's already a box for the 3rd subclass.

GameSpawn3509d ago

It also balances each character class with each element type (Void, Arc, Solar). Right now each class only has access to 2 of the 3.

TekKing3509d ago

"Super: “Void Well” Drops a Void well on the floor. Enemies inside the Void well cannot jump, and have reduced movement speed. Upgrades can reduce all enemy movement, prevent enemies from using abilities, or increase radius of Void Well."

Supers are designed to kill. They wouldn't give a Super that only disables enemies because it would be pretty much useless in both PvP & PvE. Whoever made up this rumor didn't put much thought into it.

Kenshin_BATT0USAI3509d ago

...? Titan has a super that mitigates damage only. I don't see your point.

nX3509d ago

Even if all the current Supers were designed to kill, that doesn't mean there can't be any other types Supers. What's a RPG without variety?

ScottyHoss3509d ago

If turn speed were a factor in movement speed it would mean kills, if you manoeuvre around them fast enough. Easy grenade kills too, and in PvE you could counter the fast moving enemies with high melee damage.

GameSpawn3509d ago

@Kenshin

Exactly. This is why there are subclasses. Each subclass is either geared towards doing damage, taking damage, or team support abilities.

If you don't like the "support" ability than don't use the "support" subclass.

CorndogBurglar3509d ago (Edited 3509d ago )

Supers are designed to kill?

Titan Defender says hi.

Naga3509d ago

I love my Defender. I feel a bit like a funnel web spider when I sit in the bubble.

Christopher3509d ago (Edited 3509d ago )

At least the titan super doesn't rely on NPCs running through it, though... And, it's super useful against bosses when you put the run through and get the full shield buff back as well as holding points in PvP.

The suggested Void Well is pointless in both PvE and PvP. It relies on NPCs running through it (which they won't nor do they have to since many of them later in the game jump or teleport, and will do so to avoid going through the void well). And, in PvP, it only slows down whoever you trapped initially, which doesn't stop them from shooting you, which is what most people do instead of running away.

BlackWolf123509d ago

Supers are designed to kill? Oh did you work for Bungie?

If not, you have no idea what they were designed for. Titan Defender and Warlock Sunsinger disprove your point. Hunter is the only one that doest have a Super which helps players rather than kills things.

Christopher3509d ago (Edited 3509d ago )

Sunsinger either allows you to deal damage for longer by making you harder to kill (or immediately reviving you) or actually improves your whole party's DPS.

Defender either allows you (and your party members nearby) to deal damage for longer by making you harder to kill or or actually improves your whole party's DPS.

They are designed to improve one's ability to survive and thereby do more damage over time or in general to just do more damage.

That Void ability only serves to attempt to debilitate your opponent, and both will easily avoid it but otherwise be able to do complete damage to you as usual. Just how people easily avoid a grenade in PvP, so too will they avoid this super. But, at least if they get hit by it, they can still do their full damage.

Sounds like fun. Can't wait. Hope there is some true to this.

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter360d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood360d ago (Edited 360d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro360d ago (Edited 360d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881360d ago (Edited 360d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell359d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig360d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast360d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername360d ago (Edited 360d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g360d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka360d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai511d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface510d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard507d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
