You misunderstood my comment. I know that it has been made by PG. Maybe my wording was not clear enough. I just meant that games released on Nintendo platforms receive high scores with the most consistency. The first Bayonetta was great (although too wacky for my tastes) but as soon as it becomes a Nintendo exclusive, it becomes even better. Nintendo consoles have fewer games overall compared to other consoles but they are often very highly rated.

Well GameSpot probably reviewed the game using the touch controls, because they've been knocking plenty of games for being "hard". So if your game doesn't have casual mode, then expect GameSpot to drop your score at least 1 point with all the new reviewers on board.

And you do you realize while I personally loved Last of Us as well ... it has a lot of parts where all you do is walk around and press Triangle for a ladder again and again and again (don't deny that ... it's a fact).... this does turn off people that want constant gameplay instead of watching a cinematic movie since the entertainment of those sections is the conversations happening and not the actual "gameplay". If a person wants a "game" rather than a total cinematic experience ... it's very possible for them not to like Last of Us.

No game is for everyone so if one reviewer didn't like it ... don't be shocked.

What you need to realize is that reviews are opinions. See the actual reviewers name that gave Last of Us and 8. Next time he or she reviews a game that is more cinematic than gameplay that you love ... see if they score it lower than you yet again. From there you can determine that that specific reviewer's taste just differ from yours personally so their reviews are worthless to you personally.

Either way ... an 8 isn't a bad score ... it's suppose to = "great".

They probably played it through twice. I'm playing through TLOU again now on the PS4 and it's far less mind blowing the second time through.

I agree, I think Ninja Gaiden was there at one point, but the change in that franchise put Bayonetta ahead of it.

Bayonetta's gameplay is great because it can be an entry level button masher for those who aren't skilled in hack n slash games, but if you take the time and learn combos it's a deep and rewarding skilled game.

A great hack n slash has combat that's pick up and play, but at the same time deep to learn just like a great Fighting game.

But I must say after reading all these GameSpot reviews lately, they're probably of the button mashing type, or even used the touch controls for instant combos, since a good portion of their reviewers are casual gamers.

I like Platinum games, but this is my order:
MG Rising(completed 2 times and would gladly play again) > Vanquish > Enslaved > Bayonetta.
If Bayo2 is anything like 1st one, then I pass.

As a PlayStation fan, please leave. This game will NEVER come to Nintendo because they funded it. The likeliness of this coming to PS4 is the likeliness of Mario coming to PS4. Congrats to Bayonetta 2, Platinum Games and NIntendo.

Platinum Games is the reigning king of highly stylized crazy action games.
No developer comes close not even Ninja Theory.
They are on a league of their own.

I just finished Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance which I bought for $9 on PSN via PS Plus and it was crazy fun and we enjoyed it so much be it kinda short. It was unique and action packed! One of the best hack and slash games I have played since Guardian Heroes and God of War.
Can't wait for MGR 2!

This perfect scores could be that they have gotten better since then.

We're all big fans of demos but unfortunately marketing men aren't. Typically demos negatively affect sales, because it gives customers opportunity to compare the game with the hype. With Bayonetta 2, the hype seems to be well placed.

Yep, Platinum killed it with that demo. They rivaled the original game in the prologue of the second. Impressive.

Like I've said before, Bayonetta 2 is an amazing gift to action game fans, and really just anyone who likes robust games that put gameplay first. Good luck finding another recent title tuned to such a high level and overdelivering on content with no microtransactions in sight. This is the kind of design philosophy that made the PS2 era such a rewarding time to be a gamer. If you have any nostalgia for that generation, if you wish you didn't have to buy season passes and day-one DLC to enjoy content that would have been free before Xbox Live changed the industry to the profit obsessed AAA-driven monster it is today, you should say so by supporting Bayonetta 2 with your wallet.

Let's thank Nintendo and Platinum for attempting to carve out a space for this kind of game at a time when flashy but hollow mega-sellers like Destiny are pushing the industry further along an anti-consumer path. Buy a Wii U for Nintendo's excellent array of exclusives, including Platinum's own outrageous and brutal masterwork, The Wonderful 101. (My $200 refurbished unit came in brand new condition.) Buy Bayonetta 2 because it's the kind of game that makes this hobby worthwhile. (And the first game is packed in for free!) Nintendo needs to be rewarded for funding Bayonetta 2 and allowing Platinum to realize their complete vision unhindered, because we need more titles like it.

Well I'm not a fan of hack n'slash game like this one,not even close.
But I do like its super over the top action gameplay,I swear the first time I fired up the demo I was literally glued to the screen man it's so addictive!
The best thing is I'll get two Bayonetta games for the price of one,Gotta love Nintendo/Platinum for that!

I just watched the review video and fanboys from all over are saying it doesn't deserve the 10. Its a fantastic game and I knew it would be good because platinum are amazing developers. I will not buy a Wii U just for this game though however I'll probably buy a Wii U if they come out with a Zelda bundle because by then there will be plenty of games that I'm interested in on the system.

Anyways I congratulate Nintendo for supporting platinum. Its a shame that they were turned down by Microsoft and Sony. Hopefully the game breaks the trend of 3rd parties selling poorly on the Wii U because these developers deserve incredible sales.

I guess the main problem is, people need to feel the game, instead of watching videos of it. I remember a friend, who, back in the day, didnt know Diablo2. Friends of mine and I used to talk a lot about it, so he asked if he could see the game for once. I showed it to him and he completely disliked it from watching, but then I told him he should play it himself and he got so addicted afterwards^^ Hack n Slash is addictive gameplay, especially with some RPG elements added. Watching it, doesnt give you the same feeling like being in control of it.

This game (packed with the original no less) is a reason to own a WiiU. I've been waiting for a long time, that wait is finally paying off.
Props to P* for making another incredible game and props to Nintendo for funding something that will most likely be lacking in sales. I hope this does well, it's about time gamers get something packed with content, void of DLC shenanigans and high on intense, tight gameplay.
