First Call of Duty 5: World At War Details Revealed- gamercenteronline

Developer: Treyarch
Publisher: Activision
Players: 1-2
Online (Co-Op): 2-4
Online Multiplayer: 2-16

Call of Duty: World at War will utilise the Call of Duty 4 engine but the developer has also added various enhancments, such as the ability the burn down buildings and foliage. The game takes place primarily in the pacific, with the US forces fighting Imperial Japan. Frank Kearsy, military advisor and Gulf War Veteran, has made sure that the way the Japanse fight is both tenacious and shocking.

You'll also be fighting as the Russians, who are invading Germany. With the Nazi forces on the back foot they will start fighting even more ferociously in an attempt to defend their strongholds such as in Berlin. There is also a new party system that will allow the leader to issue commands to his troops in single player.

Mutliplayer perks are also back, including some of the favorites from Call of Duty 4, but there will also be new ones that better suit the time period. The game also features new weapons for the series, such as the flamethrower which can melt the skin off of your enemies and set ablaze grass and wooden buildings. You are also able to shoot throw materials depending on the strength of the material.

Treyarch is promising that this new insentient element of Call of Duty will be the darkest one yet and are dedicated to making the best game they can. They have had two years of development time, rather than the 11 months they had for Call of Duty 3. And this time they have specific teams working on all the different versions, with the Xbox 360 version acting as the lead.

i might get this one for pc, 8 on 8 is too small for ww2. i love the original call of duty for pc, thats was crazy with all them people running around. it make it more realistic.

kai_h5803d ago

I like the fact that this time it's set in the pacific, but what's with the sudden shift to Europe again playing as Russian soldiers defending against the Nazis?

fusionboxer5802d ago

except for the fact that this game has squad commands. I know it's supposed to add varied gameplay, but I usually just see it as babysitting in a game like this. Also if we're actually given time to think up and give commands then it's already a given that it won't feature as much on your feet action as 4.

Other then that the game sounds great. I love that it may have 2 player splitscreen co op, 4 player online co op, and returning/new perks. The graphics seem to be on par with cod4 simply because treyarch "borrowed" the engine, but so be it.

rickjames5803d ago

this game might actually be pretty cool. the fact that u can burn ppl out of there hiding spots in multiplayer sounds awsome

paul_war5803d ago

If this is true then there will be no 4 player split screen, WHY?

I have a lot more fun split screen than online, COD 2, 3 & 4 all had it!

I really hope that gets added in.

SlyGuy5802d ago

Everyone is all for ONLINE-COOP only.

I just happen to have more fun when my friend are at my side (even if it means sharing some screen).

Take a page out of Warhawk, which does an excellent 4 player split-screen!

They want us all to be loners and play people over the internet rather than going to friends houses and playing with them. Its ridiculous not to have split screen, they should deffinately add it.

This has been in development for 2 year? Interesting

Why MW 2019 is still the best looking Call of Duty to date

MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.

MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.

That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.

I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.

I really hope we get other activision games on GP soon. My dream would be Scarface but I know the license probably expired

P_Bomb299d ago

Love me some Scarface! I even bought the comics. Yeah, licensing would probably be an impasse.

4Sh0w299d ago

hmmm, coincidence? Either way this is a good sign for gamers after the ABK deal.

porkChop299d ago

I played through Scarface again last year and it still holds up. Such a fun game. I would love for Xbox to get the rights back to remaster Scarface and make a sequel. It sold well and they had plans for Scarface 2, 3, and 4. With how long it takes Rockstar to make games the market is wide open.

TheColbertinator299d ago

That game was so much fun. Expected a cheap GTA clone but it was a good drug empire building game.

shinoff2183299d ago

They didn't just have plans but there's actual gameplay out there for scarface 2

neutralgamer1992299d ago

Seriously man we need games like

True crime
Sleeping dogs
Watch dogs( more like original not legion)
And proper saints row

GTA can’t be the only option we need other games

P_Bomb299d ago

@neutral
Gun was Activision as well. Nice open world Wild West there imo.

neutralgamer1992297d ago

Gun is such a underrated game

None of those games had dedicated servers on console in the first place? Were always player hosted. Did something change?

Rutaprkl299d ago

Older cods like Mw, Mw2 and WaW were way better than Call of Dutys nowadays

GoodGuy09298d ago

Make activision remaster mw2 (2009) multiplayer please xbox.
