Where'd that $500 million go, exactly?
Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.
That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it
For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.
In Episode 1 of Spot On, a new weekly news show, Gamespot talks about the dangers of chasing a trend.
Playing Destiny 1 on PC has been something fans have been requesting for years. It looks like Destiny 1 is now playable on PC via the RPCS3 emulator.
My biggest peeve at the moment is the amount of crucible and vanguard marks you get in a week! Seriously I have not been as lucky as some who have been able to get legendary armour and weapon drops.. So the only other way I can go about it is earning those damn marks! Unless they raise the marks cap from 100 to maybe 200+ it's going to take me weeks to get my guardian fully kitted out!
@fanofrootbeer
The author is clearly oblivious to the fact that the 500 000 000 is for all three instalments, and with that ignorance how did this get approved?
That being said it is missing features, but I'm sure no one wants to go through 11 pages (for 10 reasons).
10. Voice Chat For Public Events (coming next week)
9. A Proper Map
8. Sparrow Racing, Anyone?
7. High-Level Mission Incentives (also coming next week)
6. A Reasonable Weekly Mark Cap
5. Normalised PvP (no, I've done no better or worse with my higher level character, just no)
4. More Diverse Bounties
3. Matchmaking for raids
2. Increased Loot Quantity (next week)
1. Normalised Loot
while I agree with some of these, and others are being fixed currently, matchmaking on raids would be a mistake. Forums lead to actual commitments, I don't want to be halfway through a section and hear "Tony come for supper". A Proper Map however would be excellent, along with more bounties, but if you want to race sparrows do a patrol scout mission with friends, line up at a certain spot and have a race! An actualized patrol mission with sparrow races would be awesome, but it's not something it desperately needs. Considering how many of these issues are already being addressed is good support on bungies part, but they will need to improve it to keep players on.
They nailed the FPS part its the RPG part they could work on, bethesda could show them a thing or two about that.
Here's another article asking about the $500miion. Incoming comments about the money being for the life of the game....
I agree it doesn't seem like a $500 budgeted title. I mean, how do they know how much the rest is even going to cost? What if it ends up just being like $300milloon? I'm not fooled. That first number is in fact what they're touting as a budget in Destiny so far. The upcoming DLCs can't be a part of that. If they are, they were lying and ripped us off IMO
pvp feels like a terrible afterthought. it needs some serious balancing
