ADG reviews Destiny at EGMNow.com Short And Simple style.
Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.
That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it
For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.
In Episode 1 of Spot On, a new weekly news show, Gamespot talks about the dangers of chasing a trend.
Playing Destiny 1 on PC has been something fans have been requesting for years. It looks like Destiny 1 is now playable on PC via the RPCS3 emulator.
yeah... gamers standing far away from a cave shooting as enemies keep coming out because they are programmed to do so, just to get the easy loot and show off as if you were a great gamer :D
The hub is a reason to play it? And what does Online mean... the game is always online. Why does it get a 10 for online?
Well in a way yes..it connects you flawlessly with all the game modes in a very cinematic fashion. Instead of just a bland menu with images which has been done so often before..the ship races off to the moon and various locations right on your screen. I'm just giving credit where credit is due..and you have to play it to appreciate it. 10 for online because it works flawlessly, matchmaking parties, no issues what so ever when I played. When your reviewing online you don't just consider the types of games involved and this game has several things to do online but you also consider matchmaking , latency etc. None of this is bad in Destiny..and they are giving you events and stuff too..so..yeah thats why.
They gave the story an 8???
The story is a 5 or 6 at best. There are so many unanswered questions and unexplained happenings in the game it is nauseating. I have faith that the games story will pan out better as more content is released but for what the game is NOW and not what the game WILL BE, there is no way the story is an 8.
Not to mention the game is judged on complete bias of the company who made it and not of the quality of the game as it stands alone so I shouldn't be surprised.
There are so many things wrong with this review it feels like a low level marketing intern wrote a bunch of bullet points and shipped it to them with their review copy of Destiny.
I didn't say anyone shouldn't play the game.
That is okay that you gave them an 8 for the story, its your review, but I stand by the fact that this story is below average. I can go to the children's section of a bookstore and find stories with better writing and technique than this story. Spongebob Squarepants episodes understand how to deliver a story better than this game did at launch. Let me be perfectly clear with this. I am not saying the concept is bad (A little tired though), its the writing, delivery, and unanswered holes all over the place that make this story below average.
Lets put it in perspective if you are a child and asked your parents to tell you a story and they told you this story from start of game to finish... wouldn't you have a million questions? That is the problem. The story is bad, not the fighting aliens, good vs. evil, hero or "guardian" rather concept. It is the failure to connect, deliver, and explain the basics of the story to answer fundamentally important reasons for the actions you are taking. They didn't even have to add a conclusion to it but they never really explained the beginning in a way that motivates the person to take on this challenges presented.

"they actually just emailed me a fact sheet and a link to assets"
and
"I have to first thank Activision and Bungie for their donation of Destiny on the PS4..."
Don't mix together in syntax. It wasn't donated if you have to buy it, hence where my comment came from.
