Is it just me or did he keep saying the same thing over and over and over.

ShutUpDonny3517d ago

Yep, but what else can he say ? I have to admit that I'm tempted. That game was so amazing but with everything coming out at the same time, they have a really bad timing. I know it will be 30$ in a flash sale in a couple of months, so I'm gonna wait.

DanteVFenris6663516d ago

I got this game but only thing why I couldn't finish it is because city landscape gets so boring. That's why gta 5 was awsome it had like so many different environments then city. Cities just feel so overused, it's the sole reason I didn't get watchdogs cause it was only city environent

Codey473516d ago (Edited 3516d ago )

I got the Platinum on PS3...wasn't that boring tbh.
What I do have a problem with is SqueEnix.
Although I enjoyed TR:DE and Sleeping Dogs(PS3)... Can't you put your resources into a new IP or a true sequel as opposed to giving a facelift to high scoring titles of last gen and tw@ing Definitive Edition on the end.

starchild3516d ago

Such an amazing game. I loved it. I think anybody that hasn't played it or only played it on a last gen console should definitely consider getting this upgraded version.

@ShutUpDonny

Yeah, i'll be getting it around black friday. I'm sure Target with have monster sales like last year. That buy 2 get 1 say was so beast because they had an in-store 30$ off coupon when you buy 2 or more games so I got 3 games for 90 something dollars. I think i'll be too busy playing The Walking Dead, NBA 2k15 and Driveclub next month anyway to play this if I bought it. I did have it on the ps3 so that's a huge plus in my patience to buy the game, because I already platinum it lOl. Graphically though it doesn't look too much more impressive, but this was a gem for sure last gen. Also, if i'm not mistaken it came out at a bad time last gen as well.

However, for those who didn't buy it last gen and missed out on the opportunity. I will like to go on record by saying the combat is some of the funnest combat you will have in an open world game. The story is decent, but the end game replay-ability is what killed the game because the city isn't "living".

Do anyone remember that Jet Li game? Rise to Honor... hopefully the next sleeping dogs (true crime) fighting mechanics sway to that (analogue stick for combat). I freaking loved that in that game, made me feel even more immersed in the combat.

TheJacksonRGN3516d ago

That's how you drive home what you are saying into the minds of those listening. Like giving a speech, you repeat your main points throughout it, including the conclusion.

KiLLUMiNATi_893517d ago

Another port! Dear Sony And MS Just give us the gamers a backwards compatible console.

Darkwatchman3517d ago

I'm enjoying these remasters. They're great for people that never played the originals. I never played the Tomb Raider reboot last gen, so I bought the definitive edition on ps4 and it is a damn beautiful looking game. It just wouldn't have been quite the same experience if I had played it on last gen. I'd much rather these remasters. I played through all 3 Mass Effect games, but I'll be damned if I say I don't want a remastered trilogy. I would be so in love with the Mass Effect games being remastered for current gen.

KiLLUMiNATi_893516d ago

Ok to your logic, let's have a whole Gen of nothing but ports and on top let's charge $60. A backwards compatible machine truly would solve many issues, a true gamer wouldn't dispute that.

UltraNova3516d ago

@above

A true shareholder absolutely WOULD.

DarkOcelet3516d ago (Edited 3516d ago )

At least last gen had reasonable price in remasters . Resident evil 4, code veronica , beyond good and evil and many more but here they are treating remastered game like a new game with full price and thats not good .. I think Metro Redux and Halo MCC are the best pricing . Last of us remastered and Tomb Raider remaster price was fair for a 1 year old games but it was a bit high .

Caffo013516d ago

i'd buy an uncharted trilogy remastered on day one, and i already have all 3 games on ps3.. it's ok for me if they keep releasing remasters as long as they continue also to make new games!

annoyedgamer3516d ago

Well SQ Enix announced their Sleeping Dogs "sequel" and its a Pc APB ripoff. Needless to say we were shafted.

Darkwatchman3516d ago (Edited 3516d ago )

My logic is not to remaster the whole gen, sir. My logic is to remaster the absolute best games and the slightly more underrated games that received critical attention, but maybe never sold too well the first time around. Mass Effext remastered trilogy would be an example of in my opinion one of the best franchises of the last gen so I'd hop on that train. An example of a critically acclaimed game that never sold too well in the first place would be Grim Fandago, which I am definitely getting once the remaster is released. Also, I don't need backwards comparability because I kept my ps3 and Xbox 360, but if I could have my favorite games of last gen with much improved visuals and framerate, like why the heck not? Doubly so for games I heard were very good, but never got to play the first time around. I never played Journey on ps3, so I'm hopping on that 1080p journey once the ps4 version is released. I never payed Sleeping Dogs last gen, so to get all these visual improvements along with more densely packed environments and all DLC, why wouldn't I get it? I wanted to play it when it came out, but it was released at an inconvenient time for me and just never got around to it, but now I know I'm picking up the Definitive Edition of it.

GarrusVakarian3517d ago

Hmm, I wasn't very impressed with the "upgrade visuals" in that trailer :/

ShutUpDonny3516d ago

It's no GTA, that's for sure, but if you never played it, It's a good buy. In fact, the gameplay is way more fun than GTA. The melee combat feel's like Batman, the story is amazing, shooting while driving makes you feel like you are in a movie. Very fun game... that will be 30$ in 3 months.

Jaqen_Hghar3516d ago

it's a youtube trailer they don't show nearly what a game looks like on your 1080p TV.

Zizi3517d ago

I might get it after Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and AC: Unity.

user56695103516d ago

So do people care about BC now? Kinda weird seeing how everyone made excuses for them not including it just so you you can buy every good game over again.

Jaqen_Hghar3516d ago

A man would rather better versions be made of the best games (some of them) so that he can have a less expensive console with more of his favorites in 1080p with improved effects and such. Also he kept his PS3 so not forcing him to upgrade any that aren't worthy.

RedDevils3516d ago

I rather have BC, first I don't have to pay a single dime for it

Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition Receives New Rating

Rating for Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition has seemingly been updated in Australia, leading to many speculations among the community.

isarai732d ago

Still says it's under SquareEnix 😒 was hoping it would've been u der someone else after their sale of studios and IPs

porkChop732d ago

The sale hasn't gone through yet though. Nothing will change hands until then. Square Enix said they only kept certain franchises like Outriders. It's reasonable to assume anything they didn't name was sold.

smashman98732d ago

Sleeping dogs is a dead ip that square bought separate from eidos. It’s probably fair to assume they didn’t sell it.

Knightofelemia732d ago (Edited 732d ago )

Sale still has to go through and be approved it doesn't just happen over night like buying a used car. Also depends what franchises Square included in the sale along with the studios as well if Sleeping Dogs is still owned by SquareEnix then they will label it as such. Also if they have prior commitments then they also have to honor that as well. Then after that commitment is fulfilled after a while then that said franchise the new owner can do anything they want with it. Like Microsoft had to honor the exclusive games Bethesda made for the PS5 or else they would be forced to pay out those contracts. After those contracts are full filled a game like Deathloop will most likely appear on Xbox. Microsoft after that can do what ever they want with the game.

SinisterMister732d ago

Cut Isarai some slack. A Sleeping Dogs sequel can be handled by a better publisher than Square in these recent times. Let's just hope it doesn't stay that way.

ABizzel1732d ago

An underrated game, definitely worth a sequel.

SinisterMister732d ago (Edited 732d ago )

Certainly agree with that.

rpvenom731d ago

I've been saying this for years. We need a sequel.. I would even love it if they did a remake from the people who made Sifu. Or if the two studios joined forces to make a sequel.. that'd be epic!

The Australian classification office will occasionally go back and look at old prices of media if they receive a complaint. So it could have been as simple as a parent complained about the rating as R18 was not an available video game rating when the game originally launched.

I'm not going to get my hopes up I've seen enough leaked internal memos as to why true crime and later sleeping dogs was considered a fail also square won't greenlight a game unless it will sell call of duty numbers

SinisterMister732d ago

Interesting point, but what are your sources regarding seeing Sleeping Dogs as a "fail?" I thought the game did great.

Profchaos732d ago

Here it sold 1.75 million which was below what square wanted. However we all know square is never happy and fails to understand the difference between neiche games and cultural phenomenon titles.

My friend and I loved this game. The first one is always is my favorite though.

P_Bomb858d ago

Had it, beat it, regret trading it in.

Abnor_Mal858d ago

I had this game, was fun for the time. Trying to chase down Puffy and JLo in the limo fleeing the club shooting. I'm not really sure if you caught them or it was just a call on the police radio.

Gamer79858d ago

It was good, but wouldn't call it amazing.

I've loved this game since I got it Christmas 2005. Despite the glitches, I enjoyed it a lot
