Crytek: Warhead will run at high settings on a €400 PC

VG247: In this German language interview with PC Games, Crytek boss Cervat Yerli has said that Crysis: Warhead will run at high settings, at 30-35 frames per second.

lol... that's because you bought a 8500GT. That won't even handle Oblivion. A 86000GT is like, $50 more, and will run Crysis fine at medium-high settings. I know because I have one myself. There is always a huge leap from low to medium end in graphics cards.

Anyway I believe Crytek here. By the time Warhead is out you will be able to build a 400€ PC that can handle Crysis fine.

thats because an 8500 is a budget video card.

buy an 8800gt or higher and it will be fine

Crysis makes my 9800GX2 cry and that costs well over 400 Euros on its own.

After playing user-created content for Crysis, you'll appreciate the optimization the single player game has. I have a hard time believing the game could even be optimized that much better if much at all.

It would be nice to know what resolution they are talking about? What level of card and DX level. It could very well be that it only runs at 800x600 in high on DX9.

Well running on high was not really the problem running on Very High was the epic task that even the best PCs failed to do so, and yeah like mentioned before I just hope they used the optimized version of the engine and not the future hardware fantasy one -_-

i can only run crysis on high if i don't use any AA with a framerate of +40, but the moment i turn AA on my PC crumbles. my reg is a PC2D 2.66 MHZ cpu, 3GB 1000MHZ DDR2 RAM and a EVGA 8800GT card. not exactly high end but i'm really proud of it.

I was able to run the game on High with some setting on Very High on 1680x1050 with 2xAA for the first part of the game with an average of 30-35fps when the whole alien thing started I noticed the framerate started dropping dramatically on the most action intence parts to like 10-15fps, so I removed the 2xAA and the fps went back up -_- and remaind playable for the rest of the game

I run it with a Core 2 Duo E6850 3.00GHz, a EVGA 8800GTS SC and 4GB of Dual Channel DDR2 RAM
