EXACTLY!! I say just do like i do and wipe down your stand,cabinet where the consoles sit with a micro fibre cloth or any cloth for that matter and make sure you hoover the consoles vents at least once a month and you should be fine!

I still have a launch fatty PS3 working fine and consoles from every past gen all working perfectly! granted i am a bit ocd about my games/consoles but still a good wipe down at least once or twice a day and a hoovering of the vents or use compress air (but i prefer to hoover the vents) and you should be fine.

I tell you even though i hoovered the vents when i opened up my fatty PS3 for the first time i was gob smacked how much dust was in there! it was all furry and like cat hair! and i initially opened it up because the fans were loud and once i opened it i was shocked!
But once i hoovered it out with the lid open it went back to being quite.

Rule of thumb just wipe the consoles down and the cabinet and tv too, and hoover vents once a month and all should be fine.

In fact come to think of it, i have never had a console fail on me! until the XBOX 3FixME!! (360) but that was more to bad design and Microsoft knowingly selling faulty hard ware!
But when it comes to Sony consoles nope, or Nintendo consoles NOT A CHANCE!! or even Sega, Atari, Sinclair spectrum and the consoles of old, all going strong to this day!!!!!
But i did have a total of 7 xbox 360s so i guess karma catches up LOL
And no i did not buy all 7, some were replacements which also failed! CURSE THE RROD!

Regular hoovering is the best thing to keep your system alive, ok except for early 360s (even liquid nitrogen cooling would fail to keep that console alive)but you get what I mean.

i think for your warantee these attachments could void it, but you dont really need to mention those when your ps4 breaksdown.

but to be fair, i doubt the ps4 and xbone need one unless they placed in a cabinet with no breathing room.

With the 360 and PS3 it depended on the model you got, but Nyko is iffy with this stuff, i would hold off until more info from users gets out and tests are done.

But again, the ps4 and One are really cool anyway...

I remember the 1st batch that were released for the 360 would run so hot that the plastic melted to the system. Because if that, I've never bought them.

I had one for my 360 by the same manufacturer and it ironically caused it to overheat. I wouldn't reccommend buying one and my ps4 doesn't really make all that much heat anyways.

My PS4 puts out a lot of heat, but the actual PS4 stays cool.

Be wary, When I had a 360 It actually caused more heat to generate in the console as it was drawing more power to have it running.

Now? GameStop had it on their site to buy for a month or two. $24.99 is what they sale for, I might get one.

Mostly because my PS4 has been heating up, it sits in the open but yet it heats up.

faulty ps4? maybe ask sony if that normally happens. probably need to get that sorted out asap before your warantee runs out.

i have no clue what to do in these situations since ive never used my warantees before.

Its not a problem with the device if its because of dust -.- PS4 is never off, in less I'm asleep, gone or on my PS3.

These products are totally redundant now. Only system that needed cooling was the old 360's and I had one of the coolers for that and it was useless. Nyko should stick with their other peripherals.......don't see them selling many of these, just to suckers I guess.

Seriously my ps4 stays cool, even after hours upon hours of use. My ps3 use to get really hot but ps4 doesn't hve tht issue. No need for this product.

I'm a sucker for accessories, and I was looking at these online awhile back. I, heard that they can damage the console. Does anyone know why that would be?

On the 360 the intercooler was forcing air in the opposite direction as the 360s exhaust fans. Thereby wearing out and eventually breaking the 360s exhaust fans, keeping the hot air trapped in the system, and overheating and breaking the system.

Why?! For what reason?? I cant speak for the One, but my PS4 always stays pretty cool. And coming from the same geniuses that designed the 360 intercooler that pushed air IN to the exhaust port the 360 was trying to push air OUT of. I think I'd pass on these devices.

The last time i used intercooler(back when i had a PHAT PS3, may it R.I.P T.T) it broke within 4days of using it.

Got one of these for my launch ps3 and it shorted out all of the USB ports. Never Again! Use at your own risk.
