Dust: An Elysian Tail is coming soon to PS4

Dean Dodrill -
"So, in accordance with that free-wheeling game developer spirit, we’ve decided not to announce Dust: An Elysian Tail for PS4 ourselves. Instead, we’re going to pass the proverbial baton over to one of the stars of Dust: An Elysian Tail and let her do it instead."

Didn't Microsoft publish this? What's up Microsoft-published games ending up on other platforms?

arandajose203551d ago

Sony is more stingy about their exclusives. Microsoft seems to be more willing to allow their games over on the PlayStation side.

Enemy3551d ago

I guess it's similar to Sunset Overdrive in that they published but don't own the IP.

I'm pretty sure that it was not Microsoft who made the decision to let this release happen on PS4.

ScorpiusX3551d ago

An act that should not be allowed to happen.

"Sony is more stingy about their exclusives. Microsoft seems to be more willing to allow their games over on the PlayStation side. "

What are you talking about? This has nothing to do with Sony being "stingy" or Microsoft being willing.

Microsoft ONLY published the game. They didn't develop it and since it's going to the rival system they clearly don't own the IP either.

Because if Microsoft OWNED and/or DEVELOPED the game, you can be damn sure they wouldn't be "willing" to let a competitor have it.

Funny you should say that when Microsoft doesn't even want games that don't come to XBOX at the same time as other platforms; either it's first or at the same time. Moreover, they paid to keep Tomb Raider off PlayStation (which has a more fleshed out history and sold better on PlayStation). Doesn't exactly sound very generous if you ask me.

Not pointing fingers here, but if Sony is stingy, I hope you're not intentionally being ignorant to Microsoft's actions. Business, as usual.

I bought and tried it on 360, but unlike many others, I didn't care all that much for it. I HATED the voice-acting, and wasn't too impressed with the look of the game, which looked like 'western manga'.

I would much rather see Super Meat Boy and Mark of the Ninja coming to PS4, among some other fantastic 360 XBLA classics.

last time i checked, Microsoft game studios is the first thing you see when you boot up the game. very strange.

lodossrage3551d ago

Microsoft Game Studios ONLY published it.

They didn't develop it or own the IP.

Spotie3550d ago

Maybe you should have checked to see whether or not Microsoft did anything but publish it.

Godmars2903550d ago (Edited 3550d ago )

They likely only had an exclusivity deal that covered the PS3. Maybe the PSP and PSV. Any current console at the time.

This game is outstanding. Loved it on XBLA, loved it on Steam - you're in for a treat PS4 owners! :D

Revolt133551d ago

This is a great game, highly suggest it for you PS4 owners

I didn't like this game very much. I hope it sells well though, considering how many years of work one guy has put into it.

Hollow Knight was a masterpiece. I cared less for the arena combat (Gods, not in the in-game arena) but everything was tight and the exploration was extremely enjoyable. Absolute masters of their craft in level design. I hope Silk Song gives the bees a second chance since their area was only a short subsection.
