An abbreviated account of Hiiro no Kakera DS: Part 1

Siliconera sheds some light on the elusive plotline of Hiiro no Kakera: "Hiiro no Kakera DS starts with quite a bit of exposition. It begins with a detailed explanation of why our heroine, Tamaki Kasuga, is suddenly living with her grandmother in a rural mountain town. (Her parents decided to focus on their careers and ditch her.)

So Tamaki's making the best of it in the prologue, wandering around and enjoying the ambiance. All of a sudden she's assaulted by three slimy, one-eyed, purple ooze monsters. She's then quickly grabbed from behind by the attractive Takuma, who proceeds to defend and save her."

Hiiro no Kakera: Exploring The Modern Fairytale On The PSP

Hiiro no Kakera Portable can easily be considered the definitive version of Idea Factory's visual novel/otome game. It has all of the extra scenes, features and events from the DS version, includes a brief quiz game on each of the male characters, has built in and has Hiiro no Kakera - Ano Sora no Shita built in. The game feels at home on the PSP and, had it had the two DS mini-games somehow included it, it would have been perfect.

An abbreviated account of Hiiro no Kakera DS: Part 4

Siliconera sheds some light on the elusive plotline of Hiiro no Kakera: So we've skipped ahead in Hiiro no Kakera DS, since for a while the game just has some tension building conversations and interactions. In our last entry, the members of Logos easily triumphed over the five demon fighting guardians Takuma, Mahiro, Yuuichi, Tsuguru and Shinji, and then took off. Since then, the five guys and Tamaki have had a number of discussions about dealing with Logos and the monster appearances.

Siliconera sheds some light on the elusive plotline of Hiiro no Kakera: When we last left poor princess descendant Tamaki in Hiiro no Kakera DS, she had run into (literally) Shinji, the fifth of the six guardians who will assist her in sealing the demon sword. She also discovered that her unusually adorable fox Foxie was more than just a supernaturally cute pet - that he had special abilities of his own and wouldn't hesitate to use them to defend her.
