Snake moves with the times, Lara doesn't.

Eurogamer: Lara Croft and Solid (or Naked, or whatever) Snake: you can't rival these two rock stars of gaming for their iconic power. And though Snake's roots go back a little further, they both have a deep, emblematic connection with the fifth generation of game consoles, the so-called PlayStation generation - those heady days of the late 90s when gaming burst out of teen bedrooms, into 3D and into a cinematic world of high adventure and sexy intrigue.

Capcom making resident evil a timed exclusive with be met with even more negativity to ms . Its really weird how they are always attracting such bad news for gamers and besides halo 5 and quantum break , they needed a third exclusive to rival the exclusives sony has announced , bloodborne , uncharted 4 , the order 1886 , and they still havent announced what mediamolecule and guerrilla games , maybe tgs will have more exclusives in 2015 , for ms .. they really need to pick up the pace but in a better way as they actually put themselves in a bad position with that announcement .

OmegaShen3552d ago

MM has already shown their game at Gamescom.

scark923552d ago

I think they have another unannounced game, lets hope so, as Tearaway is not exactly a new IP

iamnsuperman3552d ago (Edited 3552d ago )

That isn't the new game. Tearaway was made by a small team (I think 14) at media Molecule. This is just them porting it over with some changes (because its sales were abysmal). The new media Molecule was teased not so long ago with that trippy teaser with all the colours going all wrong (bug)

I missed the whole thing of when Tomb Raider became relevant again. Tomb Raider was back in the good old days of Crash Bandicoot.

Lightning Mr Bubbles3552d ago

No way, if Resident Evil becomes XBOX One exclusive I will riot, People will be tearing down XBOX headquarters.

they have Halo, Gears, Forza, Quantum, Crackdown, D4, Phantom Dust, Scalebound, Sunset Overdrive, Fable.... i think MS has a handy number of exclusives to be honest and those are just the announced ones (there is more I just don't wanna list every single title)

MS have 17 first party game development studios, I think the above are like 6 of them if even that

DarkOcelet3552d ago (Edited 3552d ago )

Phantom dust news will come 2015 so it may or may not be released in 2015 and crackdown is 2016 , D4 might be a timed exclusive because deadly premonition was timed too , scalebound will also likely to come to the ps4 just like bayonetta did ... Gears is 2016 too. I am talking about exclusives in 2015 .

lunatic00013552d ago (Edited 3552d ago )

Yeah...that what makes me mad about ms...they have franchises like conker...banjo...and perfect dark...why don't they start bringing those franchises back...hell I would love to see lost odyssey 2 on xb1...but what do they do...get tomb raider....exclusive...for a little while -_- ...d4 maybe but scalebound...I highly doubt that's coming out on anything but xb1

Clown_Syndr0me3552d ago

Tomb raiders great the way it is. It doesn't need to evolve with the time. Not every game needs to go Sci fi/futuristic.
I was a huge fan of MGS until MGS4, which was awful IMO.
The latest installment seems to head back to its roots, thank god.

jetlian3552d ago (Edited 3552d ago )

i gave you an agree on mgs4 but the article wasnt about evolving. the writer is mad MS tied up tomb raider while praising konami for opening mgs up to valve!

He was trying to insult MS and SE. If so why isnt he on SE for giving sony kingdom hearts 1.5 and 2.5 hmmmm. Wheres the sega yakuza moving with the times. The writer was hating look at this.

" Microsoft finds Xbox One lagging so far behind PS4 in sales that it's not prepared to entrust the 2015 holiday season to a fair fight between the first-party big hitters - Sony's Uncharted 4 and its own Halo 5"

As if MS with halo is worried about uncharted!

TheGrimReaper00113552d ago (Edited 3552d ago )

Well, it seems you are rather clueless on how Sony works with IP's.
Very clueless indeed.

Sony owns ALL their exclusive IP's. This is to prevent them from being released on other consoles. I believe this started during the PS3 era.

Now, when was Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 released?
2002 and 2005
What about Yakuza?
2005(J) and 2006 (EU+NA)

The PS3 was announced in 2005 and released 2006.
At this time, Sony wanted to secure their exclusives for the PS3.
Yakuza 1 was already then established as an IP owned by Sony and that's why Yakuza 1 - 5 are ALL exclusive to Sony platforms

Kingdom Hearts 1 was released as a NON owned IP by Sony and that's why we have seen Kingdom Hearts on the DS twice, on the PSP and 3DS.

Because, however, Sony can claim exclusive rights over titles, Square Enix is allowed to re-release Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 on the platform that Sony chooses, which was the PS3
But even if you take this out of the account, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, re chain of memories were all on DVD's, same as the XB360 games.
Putting 2 DVD's on 1 is somthing the XB360 doesnt do. Putting 2 DVD's on a blueray?

It has way more space.

Also, other proof of this?
Kingdom Hearts 3 is going to be released on both the PS4 and XB1. Why? Because Sony doesn't own the IP. End of story. Good day to you

medman3552d ago (Edited 3552d ago )

@jetlian
Microsoft should be worried, but not for any one game...rather the plethora of games coming exclusive to ps4, as well as tech like morpheus, vitatv, psnow, and shareplay...the list of exclusive games is already staggering, with my personal favorites including Uncharted, The Order, Bloodborne, No Man's Sky, Abzu, Rime, Wild, The Tommorrow Children, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Until Dawn, Alienation, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, The Witness, Media Molecule's new game, Sony Santa Monica's new game, Sony Bend's new game, Guerilla's new game, Quantic Dreams new game, etc. etc. etc. Not to mention the multiplats that will sell more on ps4, such as Destiny, GTAV, Far Cry 4, Project Cars, The Division (even though it will get dlc first on xbone), MGSV, Arkham Knight, The Witcher 3, Star Wars Battlefront...if you think Halo is going to bail Microsoft out, you must be one of those who thought Titanfall was going to be game of the year and also triumph in sales. I sincerely hope you're not one of those who thinks it isn't a game if it doesn't have guns. Good luck with all that.

jetlian3551d ago (Edited 3551d ago )

GRIM 360 has games on 4 dvds no excuse as to why any of these game not on 360. Japanese dont want to work with MS unless they willing to pay for it.

tales games recently only come on sony systems wheres the out cry?

medman listing indies and changing the subject. I dont care what new game such and such is doing til I see it

trouble_bubble3552d ago (Edited 3552d ago )

@clown
The gameplay in ground zeroes is closer to mgs4 and peace walker than any other metal gear that you liked. The camera, customizing, codec, controls and larger maps/multiple paths have been carried over from mgs4 while the Fulton and mission score rankings from peace walker have been as well. What's this "return to roots" you speak of?!

@jetlian
Yakuza was always a Japanese niche. That's the difference. No one expects it to flip flop, especially when the last two, three actually if you count the HD collection, weren't even --released-- outside of japan!! How could Ishin be multiplat when the xbone hasn't even gone on sale there yet, lol!? Come ON guy.

jetlian3552d ago (Edited 3552d ago )

who was talking about ishin only and you totally side stepped SE own kingdom hearts!

MGS started on ps and has since moved around so whats stopping yakuza and kingdom hearts and a host of other games?

can I get more tales of games?

Clown_Syndr0me3552d ago

It just felt less futuristic and Sci fi. O think it was the theme that felt better to me. I dunno, I love Snake Eater the most though.

Artemidorus3552d ago

Suprise suprise. Eurogamer. That website has been PRO Sony from day one. Xbox bags Tomb Raider so they talk down on it.

Turning into fanboy websites never mind the fanboy comments.

You want Tomb Raider? You pay otherwise put up and shut up until you are told different.

kaelix3552d ago

haven't been keeping up with eurogamer for a while but throughout the cycle of ps3 eurogamer gave ps3 a fair share of doom and gloom articles for the system

scark923552d ago

Or you can wait a year, Timed Exclusives are not exactly system sellers imo. Maybe for hardcore fans.

alb18993552d ago (Edited 3552d ago )

It will depends on how good and popular the game is. Let see what brings TR.
Wait for time exclusive resident evil or Devil May Cry.....I can see it happen.

Tundra3552d ago

Lol Eurogamer... Pro Sony.

You must've missed the entirety of the last-gen of consoles.

strangeaeon3552d ago

Let the trashing of TR begin now that MS has it as a timed exclusive. This attitude would not exist if it had been Sony.

Steam’s Refund Policy Change Won’t Affect You Unless You’re A Lowlife

Steam is changing its refund policy, but you probably won’t be affected

Should have happened a long time ago. People wanting refunds after 50 hours in game.

fsfsxii11d ago

Pc gamers will take this as an excuse to pirate things

KyRo11d ago

I'm not sure why you're getting disgrees. Whilst not all PC gamers are petty, an awful lot of them are lol

Crows9011d ago

Entirely untrue. Not any more petty than console gamers. The only large difference is console gamers don't have much of a choice.

Michiel198911d ago

Not sure why you're getting agrees. an awful lot of console gamers are overemotional twinks ready to go to war over a plastic box, I'll take being a pc gamer then.

Speaking about overgeneralizing much.

Nooderus11d ago

"X" type of gamer conversations are cringe

qalpha11d ago

Daily reminder that 'TheGamer' is a corporate-generated, anti-gamer, anti-consumer, clickbait web site. They are mostly A.I. generated articles that villainize gamers. They provide nothing positive and actively try to provoke and divide the community through extreme view points and politics. Do not give them any clicks.

Inverno11d ago

Only scumbags? As if people don't play their games on console put in the most amount of hours and return it to GameStop and trade it in for another game. But also how many people are actually do this? And what games have been allowed to be refunded?

DustMan11d ago

You can refund any game you've purchased as long as it hasn't been longer than two weeks, and you've played less than 2 hours. I wish they would change it to 3 hours because some RPG's have so much exposition that you may only get an hour total of complete gameplay. That's my only knock on it. I've refunded plenty of stuff I was just curious to try. I typically stay away from Early Access titles which are the only ones affected by this policy change.

Inverno11d ago

Apparently early access doesn't count, only complete games with a play early preorder bonus.

Gaming4Life198111d ago

I definitely know if I want a refund in 2 hours.

SegaSaturn66911d ago

I never liked refunding anything. Even if a film is bad, i dont want my money back. Sometimes things just aren't for me, and it's not the creator's fault necessarily.

Gaming4Life198111d ago

I feel you and i have never walked out on a bad movie cause I payed my money. I also don't refund games cause I'm a gamer and I know what to buy lol. I think having a digital refund is great.
