SteamFirst: When trying out darkForge Games’ new project, Nekro, one point was really driven home: I suck at it. Hard. This strategy/beat-em-up hybrid does not pull any punches after the first few levels; it really makes you earn each victory through proper battlefield assessment, exploiting the enemy A.I., and utilizing a well thought out long term game plan in the purchase of upgrades. It’s worth it.
If you were a backer or fan of the early access kickstarted game Nekro, it appears that the game is no longer being developed.
In this review, Michael gives Steam users a preview of Nekro on Early Access, a real time strategy game that could have easily been a mod for Warcraft 3. - "the game has such a simplistic feel in terms of actually playing the game, that I feel like it could almost be considered a Warcraft 3 mod on its own rather than it having become a real game. Not to say that it was a mod, but given the playstyle, and the map functionality, it seems almost like it should have been."
