This looks like shit. The Demo they made was creepy but it was no indication of the actual game, so don't put too much into it, it was just used as a way to unlock the announcement. So we're probably still left with at a bunch of lame ass action people trying to make a horror game that will end up sucking balls.

If you think none of those assets will (in some form) make it into the game, you will be sorely mistaken. You don't take that much time effort creating visuals, sound and general atmosphere at that level and use them for a teaser only. It's just too expensive.

I'm keeping an open mind, but I feel VERY positive about it thanks to the teaser, Kojima, Del Torro and the Silent Hill franchise potential! :)

Del Torro films are always inventive. Kojima is barmy in the best possible way. You only have to look at their method of announcing the game to see how much imagination is flowing here...I was gobsmacked. O.O

look for the eyeball that is on the wall opposite of where the bathroom hole is. then loop around a few times. then ull see a hole in the wall that is the same hole that is in the bathroom. zoom in and then itll take u to the next set piece.

Keep walking until you see a picture leaning against the wall on the floor, a peep hole will be in the wall the picture is leaning on. Hold R3 till ya can't hold no more :)

If this is exclusive, I think it had the potential to really revive the horror of Silent Hill 2. Why, you might ask? Because if Kojima has a hand in this with possible help from del Toro and the studio behind Siren, the potential is pretty serious.

Consider my expectations high. Still a bit bummed about Tomb Raider, but I will gladly take a return to powerful form with Silent Hill. I'm just surprised Sony didn't go for an exclusive metal gear if working with Kojima. Then again, I'm sure he wants to do other things.

I just played the PT teaser demo. I looked through the peephole, and it told me, No going back", it then just took me through the same hallway over and over with nothing seemingly changing but the color of my flashlight. I gave up, and just watched the video here. I am dying for a new good Silent Hill game. The last two I played, Homecoming, and Downpour were sub-par in comparison to 1-4 imo. After seeing the video I wonder if Hideo, and Guillermo are working on a Silent Hill film project. Hideo has always wanted to direct. I am not sure that it's a game.I guess it has to be for Sony to show it the way they did. The demo was creepy,and if that is representative of what to expect, count me in. What's up with the S fading in to make it,"Silent Hills?"

with the color flash light rooms: go to the pic where the clock says x time. zoom at the pic, zoom at the clock, then head to the other radio by the front door. then go back( or at min go half way down hall way... i don't exactly have the set piece down...but when i do this it triggers the voice overs coming form the radio. after the set pieces happen, and the clock goes from nothing back to normal...proceed to next room. once uve kinda done this sequence ...ull soon get to blue ... rinse and repeat past that one to a normal white room...do it again... then something happens...and ur onto the next set piece.

I could tell that different places in the hallway would trigger different things. My flashlight went yellow, backlight, blue, red. I'd seen enough of that creepy hallway. Since I'd read that you just unlocked the above video, I figured I was done with it. The way that he would walk if you pressed the analog stick all the way forward in the blurry sequence with the mirrored hallways and eyes was so creepy.

My biggest fear is that they'll fall into the trap that previous games in the series has: copy the plot to Silent Hill 2. That's not to say Silent Hill 2 is bad. Quite the contrary, it's probably in my top 3 most favourite games. But it was an individual story. The core of Silent Hill revolves around the cult, it's effects on the town, and it's people. Not facing your inner demons, and especially not Pyramid Head. Silent Hill 2 was a departure from the main storyline, and a bloody good one. I'd like to see something completely original.

Something else I noticed - the three little circles that show up when PT is loading bares strong resemblance to the 'Halo of the Sun' - which is the primary symbol for the towns cultural religious group. Google 'Silent Hill - Halo of the Sun' and you'll see!

Also, something I found cool: Metal Gear Solid on PS1 was released with a demo disk included for the original Silent Hill (at least in the UK) now 15 years later, Kojima is making a Silent Hill title. It's come full circle.

Lastly - some of the names that were mentioned during the credits of PT have experience with the Silent Hill franchise. One of the guys mentioned was the director for Silent Hill 3.

It can be hard to shake those memories of older titles, but keep in mind that Homecoming, Origins, Shattered Memories, and Downpour were all made by a different team. Western teams trying to do Japanese horror just does NOT work. The fact this is an all Japanese team is reason alone to have faith in this project. Throw in Kojima's perfectionist nature and Del Toro's creative imagery and it's hard NOT to get excited. It's genuinely like a fans wet dream of collaborations come to life.
