Bayonetta 2 Wii U GamePad Functionality Explained

What you may not know about Bayonetta 2, is that it’s possible to play the entire game using the touchscreen on the GamePad alone. But how useful is it as a control method?

Watch on and find out, as I talk you through this most unorthodox of controls.

i don't like this control scheme :/ brings me to the thought of playing on my my iPad or and i hate that especially if we talk AAA.

WhiteSpyderZero3574d ago

A week ago, I would have said the exact same thing and while it's not a patch on the normal controls, I was really surprised at how well it works. It's a nice feature for someone who wants a slightly more accessible option for combat.

I have no problem with it as an optional form of control. For handicapped people, it may be a form of control they can use more easily.

@Guitarded77

That's actually a very good point.

Nintendo take note!

@guitarded
I made the same point regarding handicapped players a few articles back, and what I got back as a response was basically " you know that's not why they put a one-handed mode in".

Anyways, I agree that it's a great option that speaks highly of Platinum's foresight; looking out for a minority like that will always score a dev some bonus points with gamers.

ChickeyCantor3574d ago

To be fair though, Ninja gaiden on DS did this too.

I'm not trying to downplay PG, but they were not the first to do it.

With that said. I seriously can not wait for this game.

guitarded77 has a point i haven't considered. your right for handicapped people this is just awesome.

MSBAUSTX3574d ago

It is also an OPTIONAL feature. He even says in the video that you can use a number of other controllers with the game. So there is nothing for you to be disappointed about.

Won't be using this control scheme myself but I'm sure it will appeal to some.

Neonridr3574d ago

Having the option certainly doesn't hurt. I know I will be enjoying this game the more conventional way, but to each their own!

Metallox3574d ago

I'll give it a try. I said the same thing about Pikmin 3 and today I only play that game only on the Gamepad, on the touchscreen. Could bethe same for Bayo.

weekev153574d ago

The thing that I take from this video is that this game looks gorgeous and I want it now.

WhiteSpyderZero3574d ago

It really does - Sadly, YouTube compression doesn't give the game justice. The frame rate is quick and mostly smooth. Seriously one of the best looking games this year.

We're going to have a lot more coverage in the coming months, so keep an eye out!

This makes me happy. I like how informative your videos are and Im looking forward to more coverage.

Why Bayonetta 3 Is a Step Down From Its Predecessor

Many fans have been expressing their disappointment with Bayonetta 3. Here's why the recently released game is a clear step down from Bayonetta 2.

MadLad528d ago (Edited 528d ago )

Yet the Switch is much more powerful than the Wii U - the platform the second game released on. So you're just being negative to be negative with that comment.

anast528d ago

The voice acting wasn't as good...

jBlakeeper528d ago

Bayonetta herself doesn’t even look as good design wise.

-Foxtrot527d ago

I thought they focused on big kaiju like fights which felt gimmicky and thy brought this new character in to try and get away from the leading star

*Spoilers*

I mean they pretty much killed 3 big characters. They killed Jeanne, Luka and Bayonetta herself and it's not the fact they died it's how they died, we've seen Jeanne and Bayonetta survive countless things yet they go out by the lamest ways possible.
