Destiny Beta: Hunter Is The Silent King Of Destiny's Jungle And My Top Pick

Destiny's Hunter was inspired by the Star Wars legend Boba Fett, whose silent demeanor and deadly weapons made him the most feared bounty hunter in the entire galaxy. Former outlaws and master assassins, don't expect Hunters to follow the rules in a fair fight.

Though most gamers have been choosing to play with Titan's and Warlock's in Destiny's Beta. Dean Howard from PS4.sx explains why he thinks underestimating the Hunter's could be the biggest mistake you could ever make in Destiny's Universe.

I've only played with the hunter so far, and I'm only level 7, but the class seems to fit me. Haven't figured out how to use the cloaking yet, although it's probably something I'll unlock later.

Hunters are too stealthy for me, I prefer bulldozing my way through the Fallen with a Titan any day of the week. Although I do like the Good, The Bad and The Ugly reference describing Hunters as the shoot first ask questions later type of characters. LOL

Hunters are the only characters that require a strategy, as they usually can get deep into enemy areas. I am a huge fan of Sniper Elite series, Destiny's Hunter satisfies my need for long range headshots.

Yep, love those headshots. Take a few out from a distance, then move in with the automatic rifle (whatever it's called) and finish of the rest.

By far the best character in Destiny IMO. I have yet to be beaten in most kills and most precision kills in strikes. As far as pvp I'm sure you've been knifed all day long by hunters as well. I love killing people with the Golden Gun, just can't be stopped

I started with a Titan, really not wowed. My son, picked the Hunter. The Hunter is absolutely the way to go. Flame grenades, knives, much cooler than a Titan. Took off work tomorrow, so I will be gunning for L8, as a Hunter.

Agreed. The competitive mode needs some tweaks. And this is one of the reasons why I'm really hoping they go all out in the single player/co op content. Maybe I'm getting older(27) but I'm starting to get sick of how people play in multiplayer now... It's always with the camping and the exploiting with people now a days... But with that said, it's still a fun multiplayer game, it's actually a welcome switch up from the COD/BF formula.
I can go on about critiques but so far Bungie has been doing really well to show us that they can go beyond Halo and still deliver a quality AAA game.

Agreed. I do enjoy the MP but just yesterday morning I entered a game where the WHOLE other team was camping and sniping.

There is plenty of lag, in example, I go 1v1 against someone close range with a shotgun. I get killed and like 3 seconds in the killcam, the other guy dies and says that I killed him.

My connection may not be amazing, but I can play BF4 lag free which is a more complex MP game than Destiny. I hope all these issues get ironed out in the final release. This is a game where I feel that the MP component is part of the overall game and not just an outside option (like most FPS). When you play the MP you feel you are advancing on the game as well because you get rewards from the bounties, etc

I've yet to play the beta but Hunter sounds like it matches my playstyle. Dark Souls 2 was the only game I ever played as a tank like character. Even then I considered myself a glass tank(light armor, high damage dealing weapon, the only thing keeping me from dying in one hit being a Greatshield). I've often favored and enjoyed being able to dodge around attacks or waiting in ambush. In most any game in which I can cloak I've usually own by cloaking and taking my opponent out at mid to short range. I'll likely play as a hunter but any sniper skills will go unused.

I leveled up my Titan,and started my hunter playthrough,leveled up to level 4 and I agree completely.
Not only does he seem like a silent assasin,but in my opinion looks cooler than the Titan,and I'm enjoying my playthrough with him more.
Haven't tried the warlock yet.

So far I'm favouring Warlock. But hunter seems fun too..
