Destiny Beta: Hunter Is The Silent King Of Destiny's Jungle And My Top Pick

Destiny's Hunter was inspired by the Star Wars legend Boba Fett, whose silent demeanor and deadly weapons made him the most feared bounty hunter in the entire galaxy. Former outlaws and master assassins, don't expect Hunters to follow the rules in a fair fight.

Though most gamers have been choosing to play with Titan's and Warlock's in Destiny's Beta. Dean Howard from PS4.sx explains why he thinks underestimating the Hunter's could be the biggest mistake you could ever make in Destiny's Universe.

Great detail on the Hunter class. I have really enjoyed reading these different opinions on each characters. Helps me make an informed decision, when the game launches September 9th. Top choice for me has and always will be Hunter.

Yi-Long3593d ago

I've only played with the hunter so far, and I'm only level 7, but the class seems to fit me. Haven't figured out how to use the cloaking yet, although it's probably something I'll unlock later.

charliewong9803592d ago

I am still on the fence. I have created all 3 different ones to test out. Just have to wait for the full version so I can level up past the Beta limit to really see how powerful each one is.

medman3592d ago (Edited 3592d ago )

I'm leaning toward Warlock Awoken mainly because the class reminds me of my Mass Effect Vanguard class Sheperd.

alvinmiller923593d ago

Hunters are awesome. Best characters in the game. I love the cloaking system and throwing knives.

ArronNelson3593d ago (Edited 3593d ago )

Hunters are too stealthy for me, I prefer bulldozing my way through the Fallen with a Titan any day of the week. Although I do like the Good, The Bad and The Ugly reference describing Hunters as the shoot first ask questions later type of characters. LOL

patelsanjeed3593d ago

Hunters are the only characters that require a strategy, as they usually can get deep into enemy areas. I am a huge fan of Sniper Elite series, Destiny's Hunter satisfies my need for long range headshots.

Yi-Long3593d ago

Yep, love those headshots. Take a few out from a distance, then move in with the automatic rifle (whatever it's called) and finish of the rest.

Cryptcuzz3592d ago

How do you cloak with the hunter in the beta??

Frankskint3592d ago

Warlocks are the closest things to Jedi Knights, minus the light sabers. Who would want Boba Fett when you can have a Jedi?

ShaqSoda3592d ago (Edited 3592d ago )

"Hunters are the only characters that require strategy."
...Dont get me started.

henrythomas2843592d ago

I sucker punch hunters all day long on Destiny Beta LMAO. Best characters in the game my foot.

Gr1mmyshadows3592d ago

By far the best character in Destiny IMO. I have yet to be beaten in most kills and most precision kills in strikes. As far as pvp I'm sure you've been knifed all day long by hunters as well. I love killing people with the Golden Gun, just can't be stopped

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter362d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood362d ago (Edited 362d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro362d ago (Edited 362d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881362d ago (Edited 362d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell361d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig362d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast362d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername362d ago (Edited 362d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g362d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka362d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai513d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface512d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard509d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
