Everyone remembers when the PSP was first announced. We all wondered what Sony had in store for the gaming world through the release of its portable console. Some said that the console would ultimately fail. Every other portable console that has gone against the juggernaut known as Nintendo GameBoy *insert any name here* has ultimately failed. Sony promised to bring new content to the PSP. A new experience that we ha never seen on a portable console before. So far, I'm happy to say that Sony has delivered.
The PSP has been hit with the same exact stigma that has hampered the PS3. People will often tell you that there is a lack of good games on the console. I think that has more to do with people merely parroting what others have said. Who can say that God of War: Chains of Olympus and Final Fantasy: Crisis Core are not good games. Only two games have been listed by me so far, but that's because they are the two that I'm currently playing. Final Fantasy Tactics, Syphon Filter, the Socoms, and the list goes on. Daxter, Star Wars Battlefront and though it hasn't been released yet, Secret Agent Clank should be another on that list.
It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.
Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.
They're scum.
"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."
Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.
Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.
But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?
Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.
Acquire, famous for games like Tenchu and Octopath Traveler, becomes KADOKAWA subsidiary. Can this mean a revival for beloved series?
I would kill to have a Way of the Samurai game with a huge budget and modern tech... The first game was one of my greatest joys on PS2 back in the day. And I really hope From Software will do something with Tenchu... I hate that they're just sitting on the IP like it doesn't even exist.
Tenchu would be superb in this day and age. Ninja and samurai games are hot right now and more is better.
Final Fantasy 7 has come back under the spotlight thanks to the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but is it worth replaying the original?
Very much so. Graphically it's dated but the story and the gameplay haven't aged a day. It's still one of my all time favourite RPGs and for me is better than Remake in some ways.
awesome article. good looks ezcobar.
Does anyone really think that Konami,Capcom,Square Enix and Namco Bandai have not noticed the success of the PSP?They have been holding out.Expect new original titles at E3 and Tokyo Game Show.
Psp has plently of great games, really. The big problem is they keep getting PS2 ports.
However, for what they are worth
Silent Hill origins, Daxter, R&CsM,Final fantasyCC,Syphon filter,Castlevania,Metal Gear pop,God of war:coo, ghost n' goblins and a slew of others proves it's a viable platform.
To date a Resident evil port not being on the psp is a joke, if you ask me.
The amount of time I have spent with my PSP is priceless.
The scores for high profile PSP games are always solid to excellent.
