Thunderbolt reviews Wolf Of The Battlefield: Commando 3

Patrick Coackley writes:

''Wolf Of The Battlefield handles itself very well in the realm of combat, and is surprisingly smooth to control. The controls are very simple, and you only need to use two buttons outside of both analog sticks to move and shoot. There are four types of weapons, which include a machine gun, flamethrower, missile launcher, and spread shot. Also present are grenades, which are very useful for taking out squads of baddies. Other powerups include health packs to restore your life bar, lifeups to increase your health bar, medals to increase your score, and multiplier ups, which increase your score multiplier. Each character comes equipped with a super move called an M-Crash, which clears the screen in typical shoot 'em up fashion.

The vehicles, unfortunately, don't control nearly as well as everything else. They feel like a last-minute thing the team threw in just for the hell of it. It's a real chore moving them to where you want them to be, and the sections themselves in which you use them are far too short due to the sheer speed of movement. You are not forced to use them, though, so you are able to merely walk the distance instead. As far as the level design goes, it seems competent, though almost a little generic. There are some short areas that feel boring, but overall the pacing is pretty well done. You can have up to 3 players online and offline, and the difficulty changes depending on how many players are playing. Overall it isn't incredibly challenging, but it certainly has that old-school feel that some of today's games are missing, such as easy to remember boss patterns or enemies that spawn infinitely.

Six new additions join the Xbox One Backwards Compatible line-up – Are they worth the return?

Carlos writes "With the excitement of E3 last month, as well as all the new games that have made their way to the Xbox Store, you’d be forgiven for not noticing that the backwards compatibility scheme had gone exceptionally quiet in recent weeks. Of course, E3 brought us news that OG Xbox games would be arriving on the program later this year and made playable on Xbox One, but as for new additions things had started to look a little empty.

This week however has seen as many as six new arrivals to add to those already playable on Xbox One... but are they worth jumping into once more?"

Agreed. Pretty much a waste of time.

SegaGamer2507d ago

Don't agree with either of you. It's one step closer to getting them all available. Surely that is the end result we are looking for right ?

neil3632507d ago

Honestly SegaGamer? Nope. I've got little time or enthusiasm for the BC stuff. Understand that is a bit of a draw for many (and it keeps my kids happy seeing games they were initially too young to play become available), but me? Haven't yet used BC and doubt I ever will. My library of proper native XO titles is more than big enough to keep me busy.

HollowKnight2507d ago

Instead of bringing back games people actually want to play, they choose to work on titles that most people won't even touch smh...

Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3

Seriously....?
Games like Nier and Dante's Inferno would be nice for starters.

hiawa232507d ago

Are they worth a return, well, yeah, and what about those of us who owned them on the 360 but never finished them or the new gamers who have never experienced the games, so BC is so important.

MrEnglish2502d ago

Is it too much to ask for a fight night game? I`ve had enough of the crappy UFC titles and would love to see Round 4 or Champion released for BC
