Trust in Play, "The Red Solstice can be played with up to eight people in a top down view as you control your marine. The eight of you will have to coordinate as a squad if you intend on surviving a mission or at the very least stick together. Creatures of some sort will be throwing themselves at you progressively getting stronger and stronger by waves. In the beginning you’ll have various dinky parasites run face first into your bullets. Then after 30 minutes or so you’ll end up dealing with giant behemoth creatures that will smash your face in with a wrecking ball. Over time the difficulty ramps up as you level up your marine getting stronger and stronger."
DSOGaming writes: "Last month, Ironward gave away free copies of The Red Solstice on Humble Bundle. In case you missed that offer, you can – once again – claim a free copy of this squad-based sci-fi strategy/RPG hybrid as the team is giving away free copies on Steam for the next 48 hours."
Ironward and the Humble Bundle are currently offering The Red Solstice for free to all PC gamers. As with most Humble Bundle giveaways, this offer will end in 48 hours and players will be able to keep this game theirs forever.
The Red Solstice takes a classic SciFi story then mixes it with a top-down tactical shooter and the result is a memorable experience that gamers will enjoy.
