Following the success of Wii Sports it was inevitable that somebody would try to emulate the formula. Whilst others have attempted to do solo sports games, Hudson is the first to go down the compilation route and has seen very impressive sales so far as a result over in Japan with its take on the idea, 'Deca Sports'. With the game just out in the US and due in Europe this coming Friday (5th June) under the name 'Sports Island', Cubed³ caught up with the company to discuss the game in detail and its future.
An official website suggests which 10 sports Hudson is bringing to the 3DS, and we think we’ve got them all worked out – including some surprises.
"Most of us have played Deca Sports. And most of us agree that the franchise is incredibly inane. Yet Hudson continues to plague the Wii, DS, and even the Xbox 360 with increasingly lame installments of its sports collection titles. When will Hudson learn that no one cares about that poor series?" - BrightHub.com
If they're making the games, clearly someone is buying them. But it sure ain't me.
Talk about a deca-disaster.
