50 must have Wii Games For 2008

Here's the NFA's list of fifty great games coming out on the Nintendo Wii this year. The top twenty alone is extremely strong in comparison to last years lineup and I'm sure another 5-10 blockbusters will be announced at this years E3.

A "*" in front of the name represents an exclusive title. Enjoy.

is nothing more than the casual gamer's wet dream. The crap that exists on that system is beyond anything that I have played on any console that defines the word "horrible". Seriously, I'll take more than half of my old SEGA CD games over the shovelware that the Wii spits out every year.

Still, there are some must own titles that....are rehashes and basically the same games they were on the Gamecube. Yeah, Wii sucks.

Or maybe you're just tired of the way your Xbox keeps eyeing you in such a red way, or the way your Playstation doesn't grill your steak medium-rare.

Go enjoy your consoles you dumbasses. If they were really that great, you'd be checking out the xbox/ps3 section of the site and not just trolling the Nintendo section.

Biggest on there for me would be monster hunter, the last psp game has soaked up over 500 hours of my time...lol

I counted a grand total of 3 games worth looking into. These are far from must haves.

This is the core game list. I wouldnt expect a casual gamer to find much they want on there. Oh and dont lie. If you can only find 3 on that list you are a casual gamer.

Its like me listing 8 days/Africa/yo jimbo as must have, even though I know nothing about them.

There are 50 must have Wii games? No way. There aren't even 50 Wii games and 99% of them are trash. The Wii is a joke.

Yeah the games sound good. Well some of them.
I really like the Wii and only about 15 of those games are must haves and their not even concrete existing titles yet! and of the other titles about 10-15 look good.
Lets just hope they play good! Oh and exist in some cases ;)

I can afford a overpriced PS3 but choose to buy decent games on the Wii. I now number 22 games and it is growing. And this joke as you call it it thumping your awesome HD console which Sony has stuffed up. It was supposed to be THE cosole too buy but maybe people are smarter than what Sony think they are.

Not surprised, really. None of the big 3rd party developers thought the Wii stood a chance in hell prior to launch so no one was working on games for it, but now that the Wii has amassed an install base that will exceed that of 360 & PS3 combined by the end of Holiday '08 there's no doubt that "grown up games" are going to start appearing for it. My only hope is that enough core gamers have been able to get their hands on a Wii before these titles start shipping so sales encourage the development of more "grown up games."

IMO the only thing holding back sales of Wii software is the fact that everyone who wants one has to wait & demand for Wii is split between core gamers & a mammoth influx of casual gamers. Over time more Wiis will find themselves in the hands of core gamers & the Wii's library will start to amass titles like the PS2 did last generation. Yes, for now we're stuck with a mountain of shovelware, but that's only because shovelware is quick & easy to develop. Who knows, given PS3's poor performance in Japan Wii might even get Final Fantasy proper back.

Normally I'd never consider getting a Wii. Thankfully my wife has one that I can play games on. If she didn't have one I would get one for 3 reasons: Tenchu 4, Fatal Frame 4, and Tales of Symphonia 2. Enough said.

Some of the order bugs me.
Spore at #39? I know it's not likely to be identical to the PC version, but it should be pretty close. And a FF Crystal Chronicles game ahead of Tales of Symphonia 2? Please. Oh well. In any case, there's alot to look forward to on the Wii in the near future.
