Continuing their strange collaboration, Japanese singer GACKT and Nestlé have released another "Game Center" video, where GACKT must play a game every day until June 30th next year.
Today he took on the retro title River City Ransom (aka Street Gangs in PAL territories) and seemed amused by the Wii's motion controls. Has he finally found a game that he is good at?
The veteran game developer and the director of River City Ransom, Mitsuhiro Yoshida has passed away on August 30th.
Sad to hear. Such a legend in game developing and creating some of the most fun games in that era . R.I.P.
Mitsuhiro Yoshida: Thank you for giving my childhood so many good memories with my friends that I can take with me forever. You will be remembered. <3 :')
Still one of my all time favorite games and series. Kunio kun anything and I’m in it. River City Girls 2 better have a farewell or memory.
Jahanzeb writes: "River City Ransom on Xbox One is one of those games where it is still hard to believe that it’s from the primitive ‘80s era of gaming. While parts of it have understandably become a little dated, as a whole when you consider the game design, art, gameplay, and overall scope of its ambition and execution, this still manages to feel fresh and modern in any gaming era. For Xbox fans, this is their long overdue foray into the fist-crazy world of River City."
Earlier this year, Arc System Works released the Double Dragon & Kunio-kun Retro Brawler Bundle for PlayStation and Switch, bringing heaps of NES beat ‘em up goodness to modern consoles. It looked like Xbox owners would be left out of the fun, but that has thankfully changed today. Seven of the games from the Retro Brawler Bundle are now available as $5 individual downloads on Xbox One. At last, Microsoft fans can play Double Dragon II, Double Dragon III, and River City Ransom in local and online co-op!
Watch GACKT sit around for 3 minutes and then play poorly for another 3. Hooray!
Does anyone even care about GACKT?
