4 Mysteriously Mysterious Games

What happens to those games where they show a short video at E3 that gets everyone excited and then nothing is heard from them again? Like Duke Nukem and Prey, they've probably had to start over on a different set of technology as the original technology which at the time was mind-blowing no longer cuts it in today's age of High Definition, High Dynamic Range Lighting and more ragdoll physics than you can shake a Gravity Gun at!

I really am looking forward to Quantic Dream's game Heavy Rain. It should be really good. Alan Wake should also be a good game when ever it comes out. I even want more info on Huxley. The 360 needs some MMOs and this game should be pretty cool. As for the Duke if DNF ever does come out I will be really exited to play it. Seeing as DNF has been in development for a long time I can't wait to see how the game will play and with the little bit shown the other day. I really hope DNF is right around the corner. May be a surprise showing at E3. That would be great.

I wonder when we are gonna get some Alan Wake info. They said that the media blackout on the game would be over soon. I guess E3 but I hope it's earlier than that. I haven't heard anything about any of the other games either. Heavy Rain had a very interesting trailer and then no info.

mmmmmmm.........

Heavy Rain please some gameplay please

Rourker5808d ago

Heavy Rain looks like the most interesting/mysterious games I've seen . . . ever. I don't even know what its about or even what genre it is (I'm guessing it'll be like the resident evil games, but I don't know)

okcomputer5808d ago

Not really interested in any of these. Alan Wake has been pushed back so much its starting to look dated, and I don't get what the big deal is about duke nukem either. I played what I'm guessing was the first duke game on pc years ago, and it just seemed like a decent but not great fps. Whats with all the hype? LA noir is a game I'd like to see more about though.

Peow5808d ago

Yeah I dunno what happened to them. I'm just hoping there's going to be another Fatal Frame. It was a great game. Didn't someone say something about it at E3 a year or so ago? I don't remember

Erotic Sheep5808d ago

Yeah there's already Fatal Frame 4 in the works. But guess what, its for the Wii -.- Great way to make it NOT next-gen..

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

I just bought two of the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies on 4K - both had digital copies expiring in 2023. Both were actually expired.

I'd be surprised but it's WB, of course they'd actually expire them

Knightofelemia15d ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie15d ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie15d ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

Asplundh15d ago

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.

A thermos is upending the Alan Wake community

Remedy has Alan Wake merch on sale, including a pretty blue thermos. Unfortunately, things haven’t gone according to plan, and many players who want a thermos find themselves without one, though it does appear that Remedy is attempting to fix things. Nevertheless, it has resulted in a lot of upset, illustrating just how much the thermos means to Alan Wake fans.
