Final Fantasy 6 Characters Ranked By Greatness

Even if you love the entire FF6 cast, let's be honest: there are a few characters you're reluctant to put in your away team. Maybe you think they're weak. Maybe they creep you out. Maybe you just don't like them.

Here's a ranking of every playable character, ordered by their usefulness in stopping the apocalypse.

I went through the list just because I loved FF6. I gotta say though that your not going to find much agreement from me. I liked Mog and Setzer. You did get Sabin and Edgar right though. Anyway, if you did it right you could make any character in the game nearly invincible. I only wish there had been post game characters like in FF7 and FF10 to fight, because my final party when I was done with FF6 was stellar, but with no one powerful enough to really test them.

I bet alot of people went through for the same reason. This is the first time in maybe YEARS that when I got to the bottom of a short page and saw it was going to be multiple pages to read a friggin' list of someone's opinion and not just closed the tab instantly. And this one has among the most pages I've seen for such a short article too with 14. It was a good read though. I enjoyed the humorous, sarcastic tone.

Another reason I went through every page too though, was the screenshots. Not that they were the best, it's that I've never seen a redone version of FF6. What platform is that for? Since I don't know about it, I'm assuming one of the DS platforms, but it's nice. I would have loved that to have been released on PSP so I could be enjoying that on my Vita's OLED. It looks good.

And @ the author if you read these comments,
I totally disagree about Celes. I don't think she came off as some frail princess. Playing as a teen on SNES and later as an adult, to me she came off as a strong (and hot!!) general loyal to the kingdom more than a psychotic despot, who was going to be exectuted for voicing opinions against Kefka's actions. I don't know if she would have escaped her fate and went on to save the world without Locke breaking her out of prison........but I'm sure she would have made an attempt at it.

There's a reason she was the character I equipped Excalibur or Ragnorok on, not Edgar. She just came off to me as a strong chick who swings a BIG sword into battle.

Where the heck did the author get the ugly screenshots from, the god-awful ios version? You haven't experienced the game as it should be unless you play it the NES or the Ps1 version. Also, pretty poorly written clearly had no idea of what was going on. Celes a damsel in distress? People complain about games not having strong females and Celes is easily one of the strongest.

Oh the the PS1 version is the worst. Freakin' loading times kill it!!

haha oops, my bad. Grew up on that version too. Also I feel the same except for Chrono trigger Ps1. Never noticed the FF6 load times on ps1 but chrono trigger kept making me think the game froze after every battle.
