Cool, it seems that clause can be broken through, I wonder if your break the clause so much, it would actually get destroyed!

This is starting to happen more often devs saying theres almost no difference in the 2 consoles the 50% more powerful was way off more like 10-15%

MegaDan3619d ago

No, you cant downplay FACTS. PS4's hardware is way more powerful than the Xbone. But whatever helps you sleep at night. ;)

theRell3619d ago

More powerful or not, the line is blurring and they are becoming able to achieve the same things. Anyone can see that.

hollabox3619d ago

Seem like the extra power is coming either in framerates at 1080P (Murder Souls, Tomb Raider DE) or resolution at 60 FPS (BF4, Their, AC4, and COD Ghost). Besides that there's not any particular feature one console can't do besides one running it faster.

So I wouldn't say its way more powerful. Way more powerful would be the Xbox compared to Sega Dreamcast, or Dreamcast compared to the 3DO, where one system is not even in the same ball park as the other. To my knowledge developers aren't saying one system is way more power than the other. Their saying or using words like little, or we can push the PS4 little further because of the GPU. Anywho I probably will stick to buying multiplatform ports on the PS4 besides shooters and use my XB1 for exclusives and FPS games.

@theRell

Really? Have you seen Contrast? If the X1 couldn't play it as well as the PS4 then the X1 would be in some seriously deep water. Talk about grasping at straws. Smh.

And funny how any 3rd-Party game that actually pushes tech in any way always has superiority on PS4 over the X1, usually from multiple aspects. The gap is real, whether people want to accept it or not.

You gotta love how the MS fanboys love to make assumptions. So now its a made up 10-15% increase, soon they'll be claiming 5%. See this is what they do. When the PS4 is a good clip better than just 10-15% better they all downplay it and say it isn't that big of difference or res don't matter, or whatever excuse they come up with. But when the X1 version is better in just one thing, like lets say by 1 frame, they all exaggerate and act like its so much better. Its fake and its phony and its all based in pure fanboyism and desperation and its pathetic really, but its what they have to do to make themselves feel better about their system constantly underperforming and letting them down. Its called denial.

uth113619d ago

Contrast isn't the most demanding game graphically. I should hope it runs just as well on XB1.

The PS4 advantage will only show in graphically demanding games

DragonKnight3619d ago

I gotta laugh at people that think the line is blurring, and that Sony is just going to sit on their hands, doing absolutely nothing to continue to improve on the PS4 while MS comes out with new SDKs.

Live the dream folks, live the dream.

Sharky2313619d ago

Wait til uncharted hits. It will be just like last gen. Everyone will talk about how powerful the ps4 is after that. Then there will be no denying it.

Lmao. A game going from native 1080p on PS4 to 720p-900p upscaled to 1080p, while not maintaining a higher framerate than the native 1080p version - is a little more than 10-15% difference. Proof is in the pudding, no matter what anyone says, and it's constantly being shown that it was basically on the money as somewhere between 30%-50% difference.

When devs often says there's almost no difference in the 2 consoles - they are almost always referring to the interior architecture and the fact they are both AMD APUs. They've made it very clear that there is a solid and clear power difference, and that it isn't going anywhere.

jmac533619d ago

We haven't seen devs really code to the metal yet and take advantage of the power. The reason most devs say that is because of PR, they don't care about starting fanboy hissy fits.

svoulis3619d ago

My issue with these articles is the fact that people take a indie game and compare it on both consoles, when in all honesty this game could probably run fine on a PS3 or Xbox 360.

The Devs even say the game runs stable on the PS4 (even though it really had launch problems) but than they also say this;

""We didn't really see that much difference between the X1 and the PS4. It's true that the GPU is a bit faster on the PS4; but seeing as it wasn't really the bottleneck for us (Contrast runs pretty stable on the platform), most of our experience with porting to the console was about avoiding stupid mistakes (like misusing the APIs). Although we have some custom filters and shaders to give it a unique look, we don't really rely so much on the hardware, but more on the artistry of our modelers and animators to give it its look.""

So ya in short this company is basically saying they didn't push the PS4 to its limits and it wont push the Xbox One to its limits either, so ya this is kind of a moot point, and all its going to do is sturr up some fanboy on fanboy action.

I have this game because ps+ but I haven't played it. Would you recommend it?

Just play it and find out yourself.
