My gf plays Gears Of War, Kameo, GTA IV, Fable, Obscure 2, Eternal Sonata, Mass Effect,.... and is very happy to play with it.

Please note that girl gamers are not monsters or imaginary creatures, unless they are empty-minded or just playing video games "for the hype", girls can have the same tastes as men. They are not utopia where you have to buy some girl-targeted games to enjoy them.

It all started with a online html game called planetarion.. then we both played Age of Empires, then diablo 2, then we started Everquest 1, played that till Everquest 2, went to meets around the world, when I stopped playing she continued. Hell even booked days off in time for new expansions and camped mobs all night.
Hell.. some of our worse arguements are over playing in EQ.
She now splits her time between WOW and Conan

You are not going to trick or bamboozle a non video game playing girlfriend in to taking up your hobby. You basically have two alternatives here.

1) Spend time doing hobbies and activities together that you both enjoy and get your minds out of the gutter when you read that.

2) Date a girl that does actually like video games.

As for that list of games, over half of them hold little or no interest for a female gamer much less a female non-gamer. If you are dating a girl that likes games, find games you both like.

Seems a bit defeatist to me. I've had girlfriends in the past that never gamed, and some good coop games or even stuff like New Super Mario Bros got em hooked.

I don't think anyone's trying to trick people into liking games, but it's good to have a place to start if you want to share a hobby.

but they aren't all like that. It's possible to have a non-geek-to-geek relationship. Me, I'm into bodybuilding and both of us work out almost every day of the week (although I'm on a disability leave at the moment)....we're both active, yet love games. It's not mutually exclusive, to have a "loser" hobby/habbits, and a "normal" healthy lifestyle/relationship. Gaming females exist.

my girlfriend really likes games. She likes the simpler addictive games, a la Tetris and Brain Age and Fuzion Frenzy (casual), but also enjoys action and shooting sh*t....I guess that's not as common for a girl in the big picture. She's by no means a nerd, she's on the verge of becoming a cosmotologist and hair stylist, yet loves to blast people on Perfect Dark and Halo. Good catch as far as my hobby of gaming (as well as everything else). Although sometimes she rolls her eyes when I stumble across the newest Killzone2 trailer or screenshots of Brothers in Arms HH....I told her about Dead Rising Co-op and she loved the idea, she loves the idea of Co-op like Gears and Resistence, and sometimes freaks when the action gets heated and tells me to help and kill the f*******. It's kind of adoring.

Lol, that list was awful... then again, different strokes for different folks. Maybe some girlfriends do like those games... I certainly know my girl wouldn't pick up a controller to play most of them. Guitar Hero [any], Rock Band, Spyro, Madden, MLB the Show, sure thing. But Halo 3, Marvel, The Simpson, DOA, Lego anything, and Viva Pinata, never. She did get a kick out of me playing Viva but never in a million years is that one she'd pick up and play... awful might be a far cry but that list is BAD at the very least...

Simple! Buy her a Wii like I did, the 360 stays at my apartment she wont touch it, the Wii at her townhouse. She brought it up and said she wanted one and she loves it, I told her all the uses it had. She uses it for Wii Fit, she loves Wii sports, mario kart. See and here is the benefit, why she is taking her time getting ready I entertain myself with resident evil or mario or zelda or something... but she loves me so she finds it adoring when I am passionate about something. She listens to my gaming stuff, and I listen to her stories about her new matching shoes and purses she bought. It's a give and take thing.

I think the Wii is the girlfriend machine. However, my girlfriend really enjoyed COD4. She was extremely angry(hell week, also >.O) so I gave her the M60, juggernaut perk, martyrdom, and bandoleer. She kicked ass. That's all I can say o.O....

Im fed up with COD4 now. I can't find a single room without someone using the n00b cannon M60 or SAW. I hate that gun. And the ones who use it always have Juggernaut. Unless it's in hardcore of course. Rawr!

My wife enjoys watching me play vid's; however, certain games give her motion sickness (any FPS).

She prefers RPG's for the stories - although I think LBP will be the next game for her :)

I hope she will watch me play MGS4, I think the cutscenes will interest her. She watched all the "Metal Gear Retrospective" shows on Gametrailers with me, so I think she will be able to follow the story. Will see!
