Dragon Age: Inquisition E3 2014 Gameplay Preview – Tactical Dragon Combat - PSLS

"A new Dragon Age is nearly upon us! If you are a fan of open world fantasy RPGs, Dragon Age: Inquisition is definitely one you will want to have on your radar. Personally, I found the previous Dragon Age games to be lacking certain aspects to really grab my attention, but the nearly 40 minute hands-off gameplay demonstration at E3 showed me that Dragon Age: Inquisition appears to be aiming for full marks when it releases later this year." - PSLS

I need to play the other games before I get this one.

Skip the second one, play the first

I dont think the 2nd one's story will be too essential to this either...could be wrong.

Anyway, remember when ME3's ending got slammed, EA got slammed? Following that, SWtOR and Dragon Age 2, everyone began to question Bioware. Did they still have it? Could they ever be leaders of the industry again? Where did their originality and ingenuity go?

Well, I think and hope that they took that to task and pushed themselves with this game. One of the things I hav loved about them is that graphics hav never been a core staple. It is choice, story, combat, conversation etc. And Inquisition is looking to pick up where Origins and ME did...making an experience even more immersive an addictive than ever before.

I cant wait. And the competition is hot right now with Destiny and the Witcher 3. Years 2 & 3 in a console's life r when developers try and prove their worth to consumers. Is Bioware gonna remain at the top in this gen? We will see.

I didn't play Origins until after I had played ME2. Holy crap was that game deserving of it's praise!

I think DA2 had already released before I played Origins, too, if I'm not mistaken. If I had to describe it I would have to say that it felt as if it was lacking "soul" **DA2 I mean**, as was ME3 imo.

All that being said, I've had Inquisition deluxe edition preordered digitally since right after E3, and I could not be more excited for it. It looks like exactly what I've been wanting on my PS4.

Next month TLoU, the next month Minecraft, then Destiny, then DA.

Whew boy!

Their animations are usually stiff and awkward, but I hope they've improved for this game.

I saw a video a while back where they said that big lizards would also be mounts you could ride. I have no idea which one it was or I'd link it. Definitely looking forward to sinking some time into this one.

This is my girlfriends most anticipated game coming up, mine is Destiny (Dat Alpha). We're getting them both though, so I guess that doesn't really matter. lol

Heisenburger3610d ago

Yeah totally. They've mentioned there will be a couple of odd mounts such as that giant lizard, as you mentioned. I preordered the deluxe edition on Psn and it mentions coming with a Red Hart mount "navigate the perilous, living world atop this great-horned beast", and a Bog Unicorn mount.

So yeah they are going to have some kooky things in this game. Which if it feels like DAO then something to lighten the mood would be most welcome!

I'm not sure if there's a game I'm more looking forward to this year. Destiny and Minecraft are close, though.

fenome3609d ago (Edited 3609d ago )

I'm gonna have to look into that deluxe edition, thanks for the info.

Edit:
Just preordered the deluxe edition on my girlfriends account, good lookin' out man. That throne and armor and stuff sound cool too, plus bonus digital content to be announced. Only $10 more than the standard edition, can't go wrong with that.

Heisenburger3609d ago

Damnit I should have mentioned that it was only ten bucks more!

That's great that you guys are getting it! That countdown timer is just cruel. Lol
Anyway I hope you guys enjoy the game!

fenome3609d ago

I hope we do too, and you as well!

it looks really good from everything I've seen so far. I love how your choices actually make relevant changes in the world. The variation and replay value could have me playing this game for a very, very long time.

It all comes down to the combat mechanics for me, and that's just something I'm going to have to get a feel for first hand. It looks like they really might've nailed it with this one, I've got my fingers crossed.

Dragon Age: Inquisition Retro Review – A Nostalgic Leap Short Of Legendary

Dragon Age: Inquisition, developed by BioWare, is the third installment in the cherished Dragon Age series. It represents a major evolution from its predecessor, Dragon Age II, incorporating elements that were well-loved in the original Dragon Age: Origins but also introducing new features that stand on their own. While Inquisition improves upon Dragon Age II in many respects, it falls short of the exceptional standards set by Origins.

The quality of these free games has been awesome. Before anyone says they are not free I was already giving Amazon $6 a month for prime shipping and video this isn't why I pay for my subscription

Teflon02928d ago

Still technically paying for it, even if it wasn't your intent. They've been giving out games with Twitch prime, they just changed the name. It's the same sub as that was. If you weren't aware, great. But you're paying for it.

That being said, I don't personally care. For me as long as you're willing to pay that for 1 service and get more. I personally take it as free. Like prime video, music though the prime version is trash, and all the Twitch benefits are all free to me because I didn't care about those when I got it. Just comes with it.

Only noted because that's technically wrong as a defense to that argument, whether I'm on yourside with the initial statement lol

mkis007928d ago

It's free to anyone who has already been paying. IDK why people need to split hairs.

TinkerNation928d ago

How does Prime Gaming work? Do you keep the games, or is it only as long as you have Prime?

Germaximus928d ago

lol Nice distraction from how they're now charging people to increase viewership. It's "just an option." /wink lol
