From the article: "The latest advertising onslaught from Nintendo is a series of commercials featuring female celebrities playing DS games with the tag-line, "I Play for Me."
This seems like a fairly innocent notion and a means to get women and girls interested in the system by showing famous women engaged in games. However, quite a few gamers have taken issue with the games depicted and the actresses' behavior.
There are three TV commercials currently airing: One features singer Carrie Underwood playing Nintendogs, another features actress Liv Tyler playing Brain Age 2 and the final commercial shows America Ferrera playing New Super Mario Brothers."
Super Mario Bros. Wonder delivers record-breaking sales after over 10 million players ride the inchworm. The plumber and the pipe make history.
The game where you got to look after and train virtual puppies has remained in people's hearts since its original almost 15 years ago.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the first Mario 2D game in almost two decades without the New Super Mario art style, and it looks all the better for it
Am I missing something? It looks exactly the same, just higher resolution… Is this sarcasm?
This Mario game looks great, getting a switch for this and Mario RPG. CANT WAIT, TITS JACKED.
Yeah I liked how much more emotion could be conveyed through the new style at first glance I didn't see much difference but then rewatching the trailer I'm seeing more and more animations that remind me of the Mario artwork from the manual of smb3
I hated the new super Mario bros Style. This new one seems a lot more expressive and less generic. I hope it's a good game
I prefer the 2d Mario's. Me and my girl have played them all together and mario galaxy , Mario odyssey. The 2nd player option is extremely eh
PSP is for men
ah what?
I'm still in negotiations with Nintendo on my DS endorsements.
I'm asking for 1 billion, firm. If they want the greatest American to endorse their odd Japanese products they'll pay dammit!
Now I just need to convince them to make a bear-hunting game.
With women playing DS games. I don't see any problems with the commercials. The stars obviously want to do it cause they get paid bucket-loads of money.
Also, they have some behind-the-scene interviews with the stars on the Nintendo Channel (Underwood & Tyler). While the Underwood one sorta seems obligatory, Tyler at least talks about playing the NES as a kid and enjoying Nintendo games.
So I think it's sorta genuine that at least some of them actually enjoy Nintendo products.
Tyler is sooo beautiful, she deserves what ever she wants.
Dont pay attention to these nerds my adorable Liv, they dont know what they're saying.
