Gamestop selling some Wii games early

For those of you who just can't wait until Sunday to get your hands on something Wii-branded, some North American Gamestop stores are already selling select Wii games that were shipped to stores on Tuesday. Our local store was selling Super Moneky Ball: Banana Blitz, Trauma Center: Second Opinion, Call of Duty 3, and GT Pro Series (other titles were in stock but explicitly embargoed until launch day). Of course, supplies and availability may vary at your local store, so call ahead first if you're planning on jumping the gun.

The worst games to launch alongside Nintendo consoles

Games Asylum "The Switch’s launch line-up may have been slim, but at least there wasn’t a ‘day one dud’ lurking alongside the likes of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Bomberman R. Damning praise, we know, but there’s truth in those words.Previous Nintendo consoles haven’t been quite as fortunate as the Switch, with plenty of clutter arriving alongside such system seller as Super Mario 64, Luigi’s Mansion and Zelda: The Twilight Princess. It’s easy to see why publishers think they can get away with it. Console launches generate a huge buzz, and so it’s easy for day one adopters to get caught in the hype and pick up two or three games on a whim"

Review: Monster 4X4: World Circuit (GamePro)

From the Review: "It's confession time: after playing Ubisoft's abysmal racer, GT Pro Series, we didn't have high expectations for Monster 4x4. In fact, we were expecting to have an even worse time. Maybe it was the box art. Whereas GT Pro Series features an image of a slick race car against a stark white background, Monster 4x4's box features a cartoonish monster truck with ridiculously oversized wheels.

Yes, we're aware of the old adage that warns against judging the relative merits of a book based solely on its outside cover but putting the two side by side, it's hard not to think that GT Pro Series would offer the better experience. And since we already knew just what kind of experience GT Pro Series offeredit wasn't a good one, that's for sureyou couldn't blame us for expecting to be completely and utterly underwhelmed by Monster 4x4.

Well, color us wrong. Not only is Monster 4x4 a better game--not a difficult feat considering how awful GT Pro Series was--it's also good enough to stand on its own relative merits. First, Monster offers vastly better control scheme than GT Pro. It doesn't have the level of sophistication to satisfy a racing geek's tastes but it is perfect for the Wii neophyte who is still trying to get a grasp on the Wii Remote's unique capabilities..."

3.3/5.0 .... I'm having a little hardtime adapting to how wii games are rated. If this game would be on the PS3 or the 360 it would be considered a piece of crap; but since it's is the wii it gets special treatment. I have a wii and including this game and this game sucks.

GRAPHICS: 3.00
SOUND: 3.50
CONTROL: 2.50

Fine if game reviewers are afraid of giving honest review because "everyone loves the wii" and it has a wiimote and motion censitive is "fun" how about giving 5/5 in control and a 1 or less on everything else. It is unfair that a game that looks and sounds like a 8 year old game. I think game rating should be consistant across platforms(consoles) in order to help people that do not know much about console specs and hardware and/or have multiple consoles and would like to know for which console to buy it for. Or better yet, give a crossplatform score and a wii score that considers the hardware limitations.

I know not to expect fabulous graphics from the Wii but that game looks awful! I understand that the Wii mote is innovative but that is no excuse to make substandard games! I hope this isn't reflective of the future, mini games and poor games!
