PS4 Exclusive Bloodborne Will Let You Play a Female; Customization Similar to Demon’s Souls

With all the hubbub about the inclusion (or lack of thereof) of female characters in video games, looks like we won’t have to worry about that in the upcoming PS4 exclusive Bloodborne.

and you know .. I think you and him are the same user !!

just sayin

kreate3615d ago

They're battle buddies.

juliotheman213615d ago

they are not the same but they are boyfriends they kiss each other on the low

Eonjay3615d ago

Another scathing indictment against Ubisoft. LOL games have allowed for female avatars for YEARS. There was an article yesterday that pointed to customization as something they were hoping for in Bloodbourne. Well, there it is.

DragonKnight3615d ago (Edited 3615d ago )

No it's not. This literally doesn't matter. Especially because FromSoft have always had this option so it would only matter if they DIDN'T include it, which at this point I'm wishing they hadn't just to make all the people who think this is an issue show just how immature they really are.

"character customization is one of the most fun aspects"

Totally agree with that, I did wonder if we could select different armour etc

NihonjinChick3615d ago

I hope they fix the character models for females. In their previous games, it looked like they slapped breast on a male model and called it a day.

Software_Lover3615d ago

Don't people do that today, in real life?

kreate3615d ago

Sounds like the fable games.

DragonKnight3615d ago

That's the solution to inclusion NihonjinChick. In fact that's what people want Ubisoft to do just because. You're one of the few people that would prefer an actual, fully and properly designed female model. Everyone else that complains about such things only want inclusion for the sake of it to the point where reskinning the male model is all it takes to shut them up.

SilentNegotiator3615d ago

None of the character models looked human, so it seems kind of pointless to go after specific faults.

tanookisuit3615d ago

Also, the skin tones were strange, too. You had this really white/blueish tone - almost sickly in nature.

DragonKnight3615d ago

I hated that whenever I tried to make a character as black skinned as Straid, you can't make the cheeks completely black. They'll always have red in them. It's really hard to get the skin tone that you want just right.

Hm.. playing as a chick in this type of game doesn't do much for me, need a manly war-torn man, may make an older guy like Clint Eastwood, he'll squint the "YOU DIED" screen away.

Hellsvacancy3615d ago

I started a new character for Dark Souls 2, my fourth, chose a women this time, Big Brenda, she's a beast of women, awful makeup, I see too many dudes whilst playing DS2 I thought I may aswel make a women, then when I invade/kill the host it's all that more funnier when I gesture/troll them

PaleMoonDeath3615d ago (Edited 3615d ago )

I had a female primary character for Metal Gear Online, felt right you know? but seeing the blood and guts here, seems like the type of game you'd make an war-torn man, I could be wrong of course, I know a few chicks that can tear some top notch guys apart.

If it has game play advantages like being slightly faster or thinner/harder to hit, that would be awesome, otherwise I'm making a old bugger that's going to be right at home in hell. Ha!

SpinalRemains1383615d ago

I got invaded and killed by a chick in a bikini, high heels and 2 poison whips. It was a good fight, but she killed me.

DragonKnight3615d ago

My favourite DS2 character that I made is Astraea. A faith build female wearing the Saints Set and really heavy on the lightning damage. She wrecks anything that comes her way.

I actually tend to play female characters more in the Souls games (exception being Demon's Souls due to armor) because they tend to look like they have more character than the male characters do, which is odd considering they use the exact same models and animations, but maybe it's a subconscious thing.

eyeDEVOUR3615d ago

Female characters in this kinda game is the way to go...some of the best armor is female clothing and id much rather have a female wearing male armor than a big burly crossdressing man...lol

Woohoo, controversy averted!

The 7 Best Souls-Like Games - Mastering the Challenge

The Souls-like genre remains popular, along with FromSoftware's classics there are many contenders. But which are the best Souls-like games?

toxic-inferno37d ago

Hmm... In my opinion, the 7 best are the 6 made by FromSoftware (DeS, DS1, DS2, DS3, BB and ER), then Lies of P. But each to their own.

kevco3336d ago

Still DS1? You don't feel it's been surpassed yet?

Demon's Souls has the remake of course, but DS1 has surely been outdated?

Smellsforfree36d ago

I think that the DS1 remake is better looking than DS2. The interior lighting matched with the low resolution textures in DS2 is very garish, IMO.

Besides graphics, what do you mean by DS1 being "outdated"? I'm someone who played through Elden Ring and just recently played through the DS series, and as far as gameplay went, there were all very similar.

Cacabunga36d ago

I haven’t played many but Bloodborne and NIOH1 are on top of my list.. had a blast with these 2

toxic-inferno36d ago

For world design and interconnectedness (that's a word, right?) DS1 is yet to be beaten.

anast4d ago

All great games beside DS2.

toxic-inferno4d ago

I would agree, but there are some things in DS2 that are great and incredibly memorable. It tries to do things differently, and there are some amazingly cinematic moments.

Of course, there's also poor level design (particularly the interconnectivity of the world), questionable combat choices and some of the worst boss runs since the early days of video games...

anast4d ago

True. I can't disagree the game has some moments.

9 Years Later, Does Bloodborne Deserve All The Praise It Gets?

Saad from eXputer: "Almost a decade later, it's time to take the nostalgia goggles off and accept that Bloodborne has long been surpassed by its successors."

jznrpg38d ago (Edited 38d ago )

Yes, yes it does. It’s still a great game. Elden Ring isn’t better just different and a bit easier . I like that you have to be aggressive but smart in Bloodborne

thorstein38d ago

I literally replayed it recently and it's better than I remember. I think it's like going back to a beloved book and noticing things I hadn't before.

raWfodog38d ago (Edited 38d ago )

Yo! I was getting ready to reply with the exact same four words you started with lol. Yes, I think Bloodborne has withstood the test of time and remains a great game. That’s why all the fans are hoping for a sequel someday. Hoping that we can catch that magic again with a new storyline.

Leeroyw38d ago

Yes. Just replayed it a few days ago. My first Platinum. And yes. I rage quitted so many times and called it BS too when I started. It's tight. The combat is amazing and the lore is rich.

GamingSinceForever38d ago

Elden Ring was easier? I don’t know about that at all. I remember leveling up in Bloodborne and breezing through it. In Elden Ring no matter how powerful I got I was still catching a beat down from every boss.

thorstein38d ago

That's due to scaling enemies. I remember not doing Haligtree untill near the end and having enemies withstand almost a full blast from Azur's Glintstone Staff Comet Azure. My level was quite high.

Melee characters are not fun in that game, especially for the Elden Beast.

MeteorPanda38d ago

Considering l did a run 2 months ago? Yes.
