I can't wait for this, I love how we are going back to one power which will get all the focus

Now we should have a lot of different moves.

mkis0073622d ago

LMAO did you catch the face on the money in the picture of her falling lol!

Destrania3622d ago (Edited 3622d ago )

Should have been Kaz or Cerny haha

Conzul3622d ago

I was just saying the other day that I'd love an inFamous game with a fem protagonist.
Not for the sake of it, but because Nate Fox writes some VERY good characters and the curiosity is overwhelming.

-Foxtrot3622d ago (Edited 3622d ago )

I liked the characters but apart from Reggie and Fetch they were the only ones I liked in Second Son. Eugene was a bore, Augustine was hardly developed or seen and Delsin....well I'm sorry but I've seen his personality done hundreds of times before, he was basically Nathan Drake with powers. It's why I liked Cole he went against the same old "I've got powers...WHOOPEE" storyline.

Plus Kessler, Trish, Zeke, Nix, Kuo...all fitted in perfectly within the story

Eugene and even Fetch at times felt they were just added as an excuse to give you more powers.

Conzul3622d ago

I meant his characters from all of the inFamous games, Festival of Blood included. They are nearly always entertaining and memorable. Eugene was meh tho.

Loved Cole and Delsin.

SpinalRemains1383622d ago

Same here.

I love the series, but sadly I very much prefer the first two installments solely for that reason. The reason being that in SS you're a super hero who's confused and has no real identity.

How can a superhero master his powers when they're changing every 10 minutes?

Having one dedicated power lends itself to the player feeling special and different. You are "electric man". With Second Son, you feel like you have a personality disorder and its literally all over the place.

Their intentions were good, but the execution was piss poor.

-Foxtrot3622d ago (Edited 3622d ago )

I don't see why your getting disagreed to death you have a point

Second Son compared to inFAMOUS 2 is lacking in everything about from graphics. The main thing SS does better is graphics/visuals, thats all. Some could argue it has better music but that is opinion I think.

You had way more to choose from in inFAMOUS 2 despite only having one, then later on two powers, but the move sets were fantastic.

The story was better, the characters were more developed and meant something to the story, you had a lot of variety in different moves, you always found new ways to use your powers, Cole was a better lead as the story impacted him a lot, the villain was better...I could go on

The powers in SS had some uses but others felt useless

Smoke Powers became useless once you upgraded to Neon

Neon is great to get around

Video is the most powerful (Upgraded Invisibility and sneak attack = Win)

Concrete seems it was unfinished

It felt like the story at times was written around the powers instead of being a deep, rich story like the first two games.

The two main powers should of been Smoke and Neon, Delsins main power should of been smoke, not draining because to me that seems like something the big bad villain would have, like the Beast. Like Cole he would find out a way to get a new power, in this game from Fetch. Eugene should of been wrote out of the story so it leads to some development for other characters.

Notice how the majority of the games missions are trying to find core relays...Delsin is like a junkie at time with the way he goes on about them. Not to mention you have to learn the same moves (smack down attack, projectile, heavy attack, melee etc) all over again for each power. Cole didn't have a problem when he gained a new power and surely if you get an insight to the users mind, like their memories you would also pick up how to use them...bit of a plothole, no?

Don't get me wrong, enjoyed the game but I was disappointed. It felt like they focused on graphics instead of everything else but I wouldn't of minded for an open world game, having the best graphics is the least of an open worlds problem.

Conzul3622d ago (Edited 3622d ago )

@Foxtrot
He got disagreed to death because of his final sentence, which AT BEST used a piss poor choice of words and AT WORST is a terrible exaggeration and untrue.

Shame, since the rest of his post was a 10/10

SpinalRemains1383622d ago

Sorry, guys.

I think the game is good. I don't think the game is piss poor. I think the way they went about making Delsin have 4 powers was a piss poor choice.

The game could have been a lot better I think.

Visually beautiful tho :/

Dynasty20213622d ago

I was really disappointed with Infamous.

Short story, super small map, terrible performance as the FPS was all over the place, the powers were all pointless once you got a certain one, and you don't even GET the last one until you've literally finished the game.

And as usual, there was nothing to do. The map was empty, and the collectibles were so pathetically pointed out on the map that it made me disgusted to be a gamer. Are console owners that lazy that they can't be bothered to FIND stuff now?

Couldn't care less about this DLC. Finished the first playthrough of Infamous SS in less than 10 hours and traded it in, as I know the whole "morals" system they have in play in Infamous is BS and doesn't change much based on Infamous 1 and 2. Slight variation in the powers, and a different ending. Wow.

"Short story, super small map, terrible performance as the FPS was all over the place, the powers were all pointless once you got a certain one, and you don't even GET the last one until you've literally finished the game"

Maximum trolling!

Rogert3622d ago

well the story was shorter than the other games, but the framerate was really smooth for me. The map was smallish, which i was disappointed by, and you do get concrete power only after you beat the game.
Besides one of his points he was kinda spot on, so where is the trolling?

GamersHeaven3622d ago

You fail as a troll "FPS all over the place" Nice try.

psforward3622d ago (Edited 3622d ago )

@Dynasty

Judging by your comment history I would call bs on you even owning a PS4. I smell a troll...

On topic: Looking forward to this dlc.

SpideySpeakz3622d ago

Watching gameplay on YT doesn't count. Now go actually play the game.

MasterCornholio3622d ago

Is it just me or when trolls drop to one bubble they spew more nonsense?

waltyftm3622d ago

Well said, funny but damn true.

Pintheshadows3622d ago

Terrible performance?!!! That is basically a massive signpost indicating you haven't played it. Well done.

HeWhoWalks3622d ago (Edited 3622d ago )

"terrible performance"

Never mind the rest of this nonsense, I couldn't read beyond that. Second Son had anything but terrible performance.

OT: For those of us that actually enjoyed the game (and didn't come here to enlighten others about how much "better" inFAMOUS 2 was - ironic given how people suddenly prefer that one, when in 2011, it was considered "worse than the first"), this DLC looks like another fun addition to the plot.

SoulSercher6203622d ago

Lol it's obvious everyone on here knows you're a PC elitist and you never have and will never own a PS4.

If you're gonna troll try something new.

SpinalRemains1383622d ago

You wanna bone a junkie with an inferiority complex?

G20WLY3622d ago

Is that an invitation?! lol

Acquiescence3622d ago

When that junkie looks like Fetch... yes.

0P-Tigrex3622d ago

Second Son was great but i hope they show improvement with the next installment. Infamous is a very interesting world and i would love to see more powers, more environments, and a more in depth story.
In the next game i think they should really emphasize on karma and how it affects everything around you.

How Does inFAMOUS Second Son Hold up 10 Years Later?

inFAMOUS Second Son was one of PS4's best exclusives, but does it hold up a decade later?

100%, locked 60fps and still look great all these years later, same with the expansion, definitely worth a look if people haven't played it yet, not the best games ever made but a good experience, hopefully a new infamous gets released

KwietStorm_BLM122d ago

Never was my favorite infamous, but it was definitely a graphics showcase early on PS4. Still plays well with the unlocked frame rate.

SDuck122d ago

Still remember getting hyped about this game nearing release. Funny because I never even got a PS4. Jumped from PS3 to PC so I never played it ahahaha

OmegaSoldati122d ago

Its a good game. But thats it. Congratulations you made the best choice. I dream to have a great PC one day.

Profchaos122d ago (Edited 122d ago )

Graphically It's a absolutely stunning game that still holds up today.

Didn't have all that much depth to it forcing you to play though twice for a platinum trophy a good and bad run it was a little disappointing how similar those were Delsin would be like I'm not doing that for you in a cutscene but the cutscene would play out and force you to do it anyway just as you would of in a good run

I did like the story however it got a lot of complaints back in the day people hated playing as Delsin instead of cole despite Coles story being wrapped up.

Overall though the map wasn't overly saturated with useless points of interest there was some collectibles and things to find but nothing compared to a Ubisoft game.

I think it was a good game if a little hollow I've played it through around 4 times now since it's so short.

Also it's DLC was great a full story expansion

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183153d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie152d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.
