Destiny pre-E3 Teaser Trailer

Bungie has issued a short teaser for Destiny, showcasing brief bits of the official E3 2014 trailer for the scifi MMO FPS with RPG elements.

Bungie managed to stink Halo up with ODST and Reach, and getting rid of O'Donnell. Bungie doesn't necessarily mean quality anymore, we'll have to wait and see. The latest batch of gameplay videos though have been pretty lame, and make the game look like a snoozefest.

The reason ODST and Reach are arguably the worst Halo games is because they were solely made to complete their contract with M$ (five games in ten years). By the time Reach was in development a lot of the study was either working on/wanting to work on Destiny. They would have ended at Halo 3 if they didn't need to make two more games to fulfill their contract. Even with them being the worst Halos were still better than a lot of shitty Fps's made the past couple years. I absolutely hate Reach, but still respect Bungie and know they'll deliver something amazing with Destiny.

All these people talking shit need to shut up. We've seen barely anything of the game. Plus it ins't something that is easy to show. An MMORPGFPS is something that just needs to be experienced and if done right can easily become the WoW of shooters. Bungie isn't a one trick pony. They'll manage to create something even more successful than Halo.

@mafia It has been a year, the game releases in a few months and has almost no hype or build up since e3 last year... not to mention the fact you think showing up at E3 like every other developer is somehow a good marketing campaign worth that kind of money is absolutely ridiculous.

@mystic I am aware, doesn't change that with that size budget your marketing shouldn't be nonexistent and lacking inspiration.

I think this game is going to be much like any open world game. It's going to be about the experience of exploring unknown lands.

Except in this case, you can do it with a bunch of friends :) I can't wait to see the other planets at this point.

Where'd you get your info from on no competitive multiplayer? That's what their E3 reveal will be about tomorrow. Borderlands clone? How? Because of the thousands of guns? I don't think I've ever played or heard of a post apocalyptic open world solar system FPS/RPG/MMO with alien enemies. Bungie has stated that this game will be unique, and I believe them. Not a Halo or Borderlands clone.

I think this game isn't going to be as good as many think it is. I don't think it will bring much to the table. I do hope I'm wrong though. Well I guess we will see tomorrow.

Well you see the game has hardly been demonstrated, we only got a small glance of a ruin/dungeon and small community event. It seems like their vidocs describe the game rather than show it off. They have not really shown the hub(s) let alone all 3 planets and the moon. There is also still a competitive multiplayer with little to no details.

Hopefully Bungie is ready to show off the sheer scope of the game at E3, because there are a lot of doubters, though I think they are very much the minority either way many fans have high expectations of what they show at the event so they have alot to prove

Which is why I said I hope I'm wrong. The graphics are much to be desired, yet that isn't really the problem when it comes to a game with this scope and art direction.

Going off of what I've seen which you said isn't a lot I don't understand the hype. People are going to set themselves up for disappointment.

AT this point I think the hype comes from

A) As I said the scope is supposed to be fn huge, and Bungie wont shut the hell up about it lol.

B) It is a Bungie game that people love to call Borderlands meets Halo, which to alot of people that probably sounds badass. That and PS fans finally get to play their games.

C) It is seen as a FPS MMO game that is made for consoles. That is bound to attract a crowd from the console gamers that craive the genre and PC MMO gamer.

D) The game costs half a billion dollars to make, which is a mighty big number.

The concept, developer (and their hype fest that is vidocs), and gameplay have attracted so many crowds and those crowds dont shut up about it so everyone knows about it. There is much more involved with the hype train then just the demonstration at last E3. IT is funny how the game is flat out all built on hype from the anticipated fans to Bungie with their so called vision and plans with the game. As you said people are probably putting themselves up for disappointment, because odds are the game does not deliver to all these crowds it has attracted. Hopefully they deliver a great showing at the event, and give good clarification so people quit getting their hopes up because they are high enough

I'm betting this game will have more dlc than any game previously. Destiny i'm not hyped for it and i blame Bungie for that really. Hopefully tomo i might be thinking differently about the game.

I pre-ordered my copy today. I'm looking forward to trying out the beta next month (hopefully). I imagine it plays exactly like any other Halo game, and that is a good thing.
