State of Decay: Lifeline Review - Examiner

For their second DLC offering to the zombie survival game State of Decay, Undead Labs has created an entirely new chapter to the title’s unique blend of community building meets zombie killing. Adding much more than what may have been expected in an add-on, Lifeline introduces a new story campaign that is set within a new map.

State of Decay’s Lifeline DLC offers an all-new way to experience last year’s zombie survival game. The new campaign and setting gives the title a new life while the gameplay still retains a familiar feel. The new DLC seems more like a sequel built upon the same engine instead of just an add-on for State of Decay. Lifeline is a must for fans of Undead Lab’s zombie survival entry. Gamers who enjoy the genre and haven’t tried the game yet should really give it a shot as it remains one of last-gen’s best examples of zombie gaming.

They should have released it as a standalone sequel since it is a new campaign in a new city. Then they could sell it for 5$ or 10$ and it will have its own trial on xbl arcade. It would probably generate more sales.

And on Xbox One!!

OMG, I would love to have this on X1!

I opted to only keep my PS3 as my lastgen console, due to it's multimedia advantages on my Xbox360.

So, my only option is to re-buy on PC, which I'm completely willing to do, but that limits me to playing in the main living room, where my rig in connected to my main TV, rather than my gaming TV in the den where my consoles are.

Man, did I LOVE SoD!! It completely own my life June&July 2013.

I'd like to see a port on the Xbox One, before "Class4", even with the graphics as they are.

Breakdown was such a waste of money, in my opinion. State of Decay had so much potential, so I really hope this is good DLC. I liked the main game for the most part though.

How was Breakdown a waste of money? it was about £5 & i've put as much time into Breakdaown as I have the full game 40 hours & counting..

Talidan3629d ago

Breakdown itself wasn't totally, but it was something that needed to be part of the base game. It barely changed anything. You could have nearly the DLC by disabling the missions in the main game.

Moreso, State of Decay AND Breakdown were a waste, when Breakdown should have been a feature of the main game. You pay extra to do something that should've been a part of it already.

This game was absolutely amazing.

I hope that they make another for next genereation or at least port this one with the DLC included.

'State of Decay: Lifeline' Review - Night of the Glitching Dead | Forbes

Forbes: When I reviewed State of Decay, Seattle-based Undead Labs’ unexpectedly compelling, and unexpectedly successful zombie apocalypse outpost management game, I noted that, although it was a compelling and very entertaining simulation of the terror and tedium of life after risen death, it was at times, I think it’s fair to say, a little glitchy.
