is this even coming to the ps4?

psplova3646d ago

Thanks for clarifying. I am so all over a next gen Sims game, bet on that!

KRUSSIDULL3646d ago

No console versions announced yet so he didn't clarify anything most likely only took a console release for granted.

Aleithian3646d ago

The Sims 4 PS4 was announced last year at one of Sony's events. It's also coming to X1. I forget whether it was the initial reveal or E3, but I sat and watched the trailer live with my wife.

KRUSSIDULL3646d ago

I tried to google it "Sims 4, PS4, etc" and couldn't find anything. The wiki and the offical website have no mention of a console version.

Aleithian3646d ago

I haven't heard anything since the event, I grant that. So I don't expect you to take me at my word. We definitely saw it though, and in fact that was when we learned they were even making a Sims 4. But realistically, there's no reason they couldn't release it on PS4. They could even make it keyboard compatible.

I hate to sound like "that guy" but a game like The Sims is really best played on a PC, not a console.

ScamperCamper3646d ago

Guys, sorry to bring bad news, but it's listed as PC only right now: http://www.sims4cheats.com/... Look at the bottom of the article. All the other EA games list Console and PC. Sims 4? Not showing console. Hard to believe. Didn't they know console gamers buy games too?

I was totally addicted to the first Sims game. Never really played any of the others sadly, but I'm liking the look of the building options in this one.

Sims 2 was the PEAK of the series really.

Sims 1 got us all addicted to it, and Sims 2 gave us a ton of options for replay value.

I think The SIMS, needs to evolve beyond doing all the boring crap in life.

* Having to spend 90% of the game Showering, bathroom, cooking, eating, working out, putting out fires, HAVING to start relationships.....It's all kind of boring now.

The Sims needs more freedom. I want to just do whatever without having to worry about my Hunger and MOOD.

When playing the game becomes like doing ACTUAL CHORES, then it becomes not fun.

I hope this game is awesome. Building homes was the best part.

EDIT: K just watched the Video.

This new way of building houses looks awesome!

--Onilink--3646d ago

yeah, i usually played always with cheats so I wouldnt have to worry about most of the boring stuff

SuperDan-Dare3646d ago

I agree completely. I spent absolutely ages playing the first Sims. I think you spent a bit too much time 'maintaining' relationships and with Sims 2 they got the balance just right - wasn't a chore but genuinely fun. I think Sims 3 they took a wrong turn with the jobs and general maintenance of your sim. Got boring after a few hours.

This though, this looks genuinely intuitive. I just hope the interaction side of things is more like Sims 2.

When I play sims, I enjoy building much more than the living part, Sims 4 seems to have added a few good features, but I dont like his attitude towards building homes,I dont think Sims needs an auto fill feature for rooms, thats all the fun. But i am liking some of the new features I.E Change hieght of walls and the extra cosmetic features. Im still excited just a bit disappointed with the guys attitude with Sims.

Raf1k13646d ago

Yeh autofill isn't great but helps for younger players as it's pretty popular with the kids.

One thing that annoys me about The Sims is that there never seems to be enough items to purchase in the core game. They sell loads of stuff as expansions instead which I'm not keen on.

And I agree about enjoying the building more. It's definitely more fun.

Hazmat133646d ago (Edited 3646d ago )

can't wait for tunt to be in the new sims. INSIDE GAMING FTW!

WeAreLegion3646d ago

I like this, but can we work on stories a bit more? Building is fun, but we're simulating life, correct? So, simulate life! Give us more to work with in the story department. Just don't hold everything back for expansions.
