Wolfenstein: The New Order on PS4 Outsells Xbox One Version in the UK, Xbox 360 Beats PS3

Wolfenstein: The New Order Launched last week, and looks like the PS4 version of the game came on top of the individual format chart provided by the UKIE, placing itself just above the Xbox One version in second place, while the Xbox 360 version dominated the old generation in 4th position, with the PS3 port in 8th. The PC version was ranked 5th.

Yep, this article falls in one of two categories...

1) The article was written by a PS4 fanboy pretending to be a "objective gaming journalist"

2) The article was written for a site desperate for advertising hits and knew fanboys would flock to it when made.

I hope it is #2. But, both are pathetic.

It falls in neither category.

JMyers3628d ago

The Article is talking about sales of games in the UK. How is it different from the multiple posts by VG chartz?

At least it's backed up by real numbers.

Gamer6663628d ago

@JMyers
Anyone who knows anything about gaming industry sales knows that:

1) PS4 has outsold Xbox One world wide since day one so how is it news that PS4 sold more units of Wolfenstein than X1?

2) 360 out sold the PS3 in North America and the UK the entire last generation so it is not surprising that sales of a game would be higher on 360.

These two trends have been obvious and very well documented for years on the previous generation and more than obvious this past year in the new generation.

every multiplat everywhere sells better on ps4 than x1.
every multiplat in uk/usa sells better on x360 than ps3.

this is simple truth which probably wont change even in further years.

Nuk3629d ago

I like how minecraft separates the generational consoles.

MasterCornholio3629d ago

There are more PS4s sold then Xbox Ones so this makes sense.

Software_Lover3629d ago

.............. Is this really an article?

MasterCornholio3629d ago (Edited 3629d ago )

Its just informing us that Wolfenstein is selling more on the PS4 than the Xbox One. I dont see any issue with that.

@ger

I'm glad that there's still a market for single player games. Despite what many fanboys are saying this game is selling well even though it doesn't have multiplayer.

@ThePope

Actually playstation fans buy more software than Xbox fans which means they play more games with their console. I was playing FF14 last night on my PS4 and at the same time I was posting on N4G with my tablet. I can play games and read "good news" on N4G.

Kribwalker3629d ago

I call BS on your thought that PS fans by more software. If you look at console game attach rates, xbox has beatin PS in every generation they have both been around. Bigger user base more software yes. But attach rate is better for xbox consoles

ThePope3629d ago

@master @krib

Krib is right attach rate is one of the most important things to developers and publishers. Because it tells them that if they launch on a system the likelihood of the game getting purchased. The Wii is the ultimate example, it sold 50% more than the 360 or PS3, and yet no one bought games for it. So companies stopped making games for it.

Xbox gamers have historically bought more games for the system than PS gamers.

reply to Kribwalker , is your comment saying that original XBOX had bigger attach rate than PS2?
And i think it is fun too see how video games are selling and do not care for XBOX vs SONY debate at all ! As long as studios put out good games for us to play, for all consoles , that is all that should matter !!!

Is this the first time Dualshockers posted individual charts numbers for a retail release? Where was this article when the XB1 version of Titanfall was outselling the X360 version of the same game and infamous:SS for 6 straight weeks now?

mkis0073629d ago

Well The Xbox 1 version of Titanfall was outsold by Infamous second son for April, so I don't know where you're getting those 6 weeks.

Obviously combined sales for Titanfall on 3 platforms (even 2 if you include 360) will be higher than infamous second son.

No_Limit3629d ago (Edited 3629d ago )

@mkis007,

You can see it in the individual weekly format archive....The XB1 Titanfall individual sku has been outselling inFamosu:SS since the week ending April 12 and outsold the X360 version of Titallfall Sku since April 27th.

Scheiße! Nein.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is the best in the series. After that:
New Order
New Colossus
Old Blood

Harryvok635d ago

I really wish they'd remake Return to Castle Wolfenstein from the ground up. Easily the best of them all.
