Insider Confirms Halo 2 Anniversary Devs To Be Saber Interactive & Certain Affinity

Insider shinobi confirms that Halo 2 Anniversary is absolutely coming and that it's being developed by Saber Interactive & Certain Affinity.

It wasn't really postponed, the key wording was "The journey begins in 2014", maybe Halo 2 anniversary/Master Chief edition will have something that ties in with halo 5.

I'd rather have the whole Halo 1-4 Collection on my X1, but Halo 2 remastered in HD would be a helluva start to bringing them over. Damm I miss those good 'old days drinking and playing Halo2 with my bro's; Halo2 on X1 would definitely be a gift from the Gaming God's.

No mater how good Halo 5 turns out, it would have been a terrible idea to launch it along side Destiny, I have pre-ordered both but you can imagine all the flames if they were head to head, regardless of one being platform exclusive and the other being multi-plat.

It was pretty horrible... And that's coming from the biggest Halo fan you'll meet all day.

To put it into perspective, I'll log my multiplayer playtimes from Halo 3/Reach/4 as tracked by bungie.net and halowaypoint.com

Halo 2: I didn't get my LIVE profile until 2008, but I'd guess about 450h
Halo 3: 653h 36m
Halo: Reach: 839h 39m (<- includes campaign time so a bit inflated)
Halo 4: 125h 59m

I haven't touched Halo 4's multiplayer since the last map pack, and the only reason I did at that time was to get all the achievements.

Is it the worst multiplayer I've ever played? No. But it has Halo's name attached to it, so it's held to a higher standard. (Just like TESO is tied to TES, so it is held to a higher standard.) And for a Halo game? It's pretty horrible... relatively speaking.

What we didn't know, is the playability that there may be a

@Nekroo What is your problem ? You know people can change right ? I used to be a PS4 fanboy, but now I'm a proud new owner of a XB1 as of last night. I'm glad to have both. Maybe he changed too ? I hope so, I would much prefer a wonderful remake like the last anniversary edition than some stupid ports. This time the MP has to be the original and cannot be used to improve upon a current Halo (dont get me wrong I loved Halo 1 in Halo Reach it added so much content and kept me playing throughout the last few years). I am all for them releasing Halo 3, Reach, 4, ODST on the store though. If them and Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia make it on the Xbone store I have no reason to buy a 360 again.

I think they will release all SP Campaign for each game. Halo 1-3 ( Maybe 4 ) And only the multiplayer of HALO 2.

Megaton, what if Halo 2 Anniversary is the only HD remake made to take advantage of the XB1 specs out of the complete Master Chief Collection, if in fact there is such a collection?

What I mean is, can it be that the rest of the games in the Collection (Halo Anniversary, 3, 4) are just standard X360 codes and works due to Backward compatibility? It may sound crazy but I am putting these clues together from recent findings:

1. MS at the Build conference recently, a director admitted that BC is indeed in the work to make X360 games compatible with XB1. Although he did say it was still a way off and in the preliminary stage (could be saying that to surprise us at E3)

2. A leaked by various sources that the Master Chief Collection is indeed real and will include every game that feature Master Chief. Now the question here is, what incentive is there to make four separate remakes when Halo Anniversary, 3, and 4 are already in HD. Wouldn't it more sense, financially and save time to just include the 3 previous games with Halo 2 HD and call it a day.

3. Finally, the external HDD update to allow storage of up to 16tb. The timing of it and the large allotted capacity really got me thinking that it might be a service for X360 owners with lots of games to install their games on the HDD and run off the XB1 with emulation either by a patch or through the cloud of some sort.

What do you guys think? Am I being crazy or there might be some truth to what I came up with?

With rumors of Halo 2 anniversary and a Master Chief edition with Halo 1-3, I don't think they can go wrong either way...but I would love all 3 games versus just Halo 2.

These are the guys who made age of booty and some Halo 4 map packs (which were under expectation for a such high rated game)

Saber interactive is pretty average too. They made TimeShift , Inversion and Battle:Los Angeles.

Certain Affinity is not bad at all. They did a fine job helping with Halo Anniversary and clearly they have been doing a fine job with working on CoD modes and maps because Acti has had them working on every Treyarch developed game since WaW. They also created the even better forge mode in Halo 4, just to bad Forge World and an actual community were missing to actually take advantage of it. The company was even formed by ex Bungle employees

Halo 4's forge mode was a disaster in my opinion.. Not only was it extremely slow, but it was also way more limited than Halo 3.

I hope Saber do a better job this time with the extra power from X1. The 360 version was mostly there but suffered in a few visual areas as things had to be cut back slightly. Clipping into scenery also needs to be addressed and any other stupid glitches missed such as disappearing into the shotgun
