After the postponement of Halo 5 in the autumn of 2015, there must be Halo 2 Anniversary. I can't wait to see how good it'll look!

Elit3Nick3649d ago

It wasn't really postponed, the key wording was "The journey begins in 2014", maybe Halo 2 anniversary/Master Chief edition will have something that ties in with halo 5.

4Sh0w3649d ago (Edited 3649d ago )

I'd rather have the whole Halo 1-4 Collection on my X1, but Halo 2 remastered in HD would be a helluva start to bringing them over. Damm I miss those good 'old days drinking and playing Halo2 with my bro's; Halo2 on X1 would definitely be a gift from the Gaming God's.

DeathOfTheFanBoy3649d ago

No mater how good Halo 5 turns out, it would have been a terrible idea to launch it along side Destiny, I have pre-ordered both but you can imagine all the flames if they were head to head, regardless of one being platform exclusive and the other being multi-plat.

I just finished re-playing combat evolved for the first time in years, mega hyped for halo 2 anniversary!

3-4-53649d ago

* The only GREAT thing that will come from this is HOPEFULLY it will show 343 what a GOOD multiplayer map looks and plays like.

Ausbo3649d ago

You act like halo 4 multiplayer was horrible. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great. Mediocre. But they made up for it with thier spectacular campaign

TheRedButterfly3648d ago (Edited 3648d ago )

@Ausbo

It was pretty horrible... And that's coming from the biggest Halo fan you'll meet all day.

To put it into perspective, I'll log my multiplayer playtimes from Halo 3/Reach/4 as tracked by bungie.net and halowaypoint.com

Halo 2: I didn't get my LIVE profile until 2008, but I'd guess about 450h
Halo 3: 653h 36m
Halo: Reach: 839h 39m (<- includes campaign time so a bit inflated)
Halo 4: 125h 59m

I haven't touched Halo 4's multiplayer since the last map pack, and the only reason I did at that time was to get all the achievements.

Is it the worst multiplayer I've ever played? No. But it has Halo's name attached to it, so it's held to a higher standard. (Just like TESO is tied to TES, so it is held to a higher standard.) And for a Halo game? It's pretty horrible... relatively speaking.

otherZinc3649d ago

This is no prediction, we knew there would be a Halo2 Anniversary when Halo CE Anniversary sold 830,000+ units on day 1!

What we didn't know, is the playability that there may be a
Halo 1-4 Anniversary this year.

Alexious3649d ago

It was a great game at the time. Let's hope they do it justice!

SnakeCQC3649d ago

To this day no enemy has frightened me more than the flood but maybe because i was a kid when i played it but still lol

TheFirstClassic3649d ago

Still the most fun halo game today imo.

Nekroo913649d ago

Why are you trying to act unbiased? You think we have short memory or youre just tired of all the restrection tickets?

You're just a ps fanboy so stop sucking MS Tits.

I at least can talk about Halo 2 because its one of my favorite games of all time and i played in all dificulty levels etc bought it with Xbox crystal limited edition. I still have it

MegaRay3649d ago

So, you prefer people who bash the competitor than who lies to show his unbiase?

Sasuke prefer Sony and Japanese product (hence the avatar and the username) but that doesnt make him a fanboy of Sony, cuz I saw him alot of times praise MS and Nintendo (even if its indirectly)

GameDev13649d ago

Pathetic

He is allowed to have his own opinion and he likes Halo

Was the problem with that?

PrinceOfAllSaiyans3649d ago

@Nekroo What is your problem ? You know people can change right ? I used to be a PS4 fanboy, but now I'm a proud new owner of a XB1 as of last night. I'm glad to have both. Maybe he changed too ? Maybe he just wants to play games ? He's actually been praising MS lately since they have turned it around from their BS ways. I'm not defending the guy hut I can see where he is coming from.

OT: Just give us Halo 2 multiplayer without sprint and cheesy armor abilities and we'll he golden. :-)

SoulSercher6203649d ago

Wow the hypocrisy in your post is unbelievable. Just because he is a PS fan it automatically means he hasn't played Halo 2? Please fix your logic. It's terrible.

4Sh0w3649d ago (Edited 3649d ago )

Nekroo91 come on man XiSasuke just made a good comment, why not leave it at that? Yeah sometimes he makes some ridiculous fanboy comments and most of the time I don't even understand wth he's talking about but no need to beat him up cause he likes Halo.

MasterCornholio3649d ago (Edited 3649d ago )

Nothing wrong with that and if its a remake its even better.

:)

@Nekroo91

He wasn't trolling with his comment. There's nothing wrong with a HD remake of Halo 2.

No_Limit3649d ago (Edited 3649d ago )

Man, let's celebrate with playing 'Man in the Mirror' by the late Michael Jackson. "gonna make that change" chumon!

OT, I am starting to like you XiSasukeUchiha, keep up the good attitude and don't worry about people like Nekroo91. I also been accused of being a MS fanboi spy going undercover as a PS4 fan from former PS4 fanboi like PrinceOfAllSaiyans because I am deemed not worthy to make positive comments on PS4 articles because I like the Xbox more. People here prefer black and white as in you either with us or against us. Kudos to you for liking games instead on brand.

ghostface93649d ago

@erudito87 your right man they its still true today. played halo 3 a month ago and there design the ability to jump across rooms and the fact that they can take over dead bodies creeps me the hell out.

SnakeCQC3649d ago

It better have a pc release(ideally on steam)

elhebbo163649d ago

There is already a PC version of both Halo 1 & 2. although no digital copies were ever made unfortunately so your best way to get it is through amazon.

AD7053649d ago

As great as that sounds I highly doubt it will come to pc. Regardless of how much Microsoft talks about supporting pc gamers they still give us the shaft.

ArbitorChief3649d ago

I'd honestly rather have Halo 2 Anniversary with Halo 2 MP than a Halo Master Chief collection with only the SP campaigns of each game.

AD7053649d ago

I thought that rumored MC collection had all the original multiplayers.

LAWSON723649d ago (Edited 3649d ago )

You know how odd it sounds to think MS would release 3 games all with their own seperate online multiplayer?

DigitalRaptor3649d ago

Yeah it's confusing to see these conflicting leaks.

Maybe the Halo 2 Anniversary is for the 360, and the Master Chief collection is for the XB1? Still, if they did include the multiplayer for all of them, which game do you think would have the most active community?

LAWSON723649d ago (Edited 3649d ago )

I hope so, I would much prefer a wonderful remake like the last anniversary edition than some stupid ports. This time the MP has to be the original and cannot be used to improve upon a current Halo (dont get me wrong I loved Halo 1 in Halo Reach it added so much content and kept me playing throughout the last few years). I am all for them releasing Halo 3, Reach, 4, ODST on the store though. If them and Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia make it on the Xbone store I have no reason to buy a 360 again.

Saber Interactive CEO Says KOTOR Remake Is 'Alive and Well'

IGN:

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is one of gaming's most elusive projects. But we finally have a real, concrete update on what's going on.

Saber Interactive is still working on it, and according to the CEO, it's "alive and well."

CobraKai48d ago

It was announced in 2021 and there hasn’t been so much as a screen shot. Hopefully it is alive but i dunno if it’s actually well

Eonjay47d ago

I'm just happy this game didn't die in the deadly Embrace like so many others.

CrimsonWing6948d ago

I’ll believe it when I see it.

SimpleSlave48d ago

As long as it's not AssPyre doing this, there's still some hope.

*Takes a look at the games Saber Interactive have developed...

Oh, fu...

RNTody48d ago (Edited 48d ago )

What's the point of this comment from the CEO without a screenshot of the game in progress or announcement of a trailer? It's been a long time since the announcement and absolutely nothing to show for it which is not a good sign.

I was beyond hyped when this was announced, but I've long accepted the reality that it's not going to happen, unless something concrete is shown.

Compare this to Delta Snake Eater which has more than shown its existence off.

KwietStorm_BLM48d ago

Showing a screenshot doesn't prove or disprove it's development status. With everything that's happened with Aspyr, the last thing they want to do right now is show a product that isn't ready for public viewing. The reason the CEO spoke up is because of the game being in the news recently. Metal Gear is an entirely different situation and has no correlation other than being a remake.

Saber Interactive Sale Has Been Officially Confirmed By Embracer Group

Embracer Group has officially confirmed that Saber Interactive has been sold for $247 million, following news yesterday that the studio has removed all references to the mega-publisher from its official website.

Speaking in a statement to investors today, Embracer Group confirmed that the sale has resulted in the company ceasing all operations in Russia, with Saber Interactive being sold to a group of private investors at Beacon Interactive, which is helmed by Matthew Karch, the co-founder of Saber Interactive.

As a result of the sale, Saber Interactive will retain a number of studios including Nimble Giant, 3D Realms, Sandbox Strategies, New World Interactive, and Slippage Ironworks. Embracer, meanwhile, keeps Zen Studios, 4A Games, Tripwire, Beamdog, and Tuxedo Labs among others.

OtterX68d ago

That's great, at least Saber won't die in the embrace. I really enjoy Snowrunner, and Dakar Desert Rally is pretty fun w a wheel.

badz14968d ago (Edited 68d ago )

$247mil?? for what? smells like money laundring

BISHOP-BRASIL67d ago

Embracer paid 525 mil just a bit over 4 years ago for Saber and now sells it back for less than half... And for a company with heavy presence (and possibly investors looking to move their money around the embargo) in Russia and even Belarus... Suspicious don't even begin to describe it.

Knightofelemia67d ago

Better then being pawned off to Tencent. I think Beacon Interactive is a better fit for them.

Puty67d ago

They should go back to Dunder Mifflin.

kickerz67d ago

And take their stupid metal drink bottles with them
