Interceptor Entertainment forgoes Duke Nukem for femme fatale Bombshell

Brittany Vincent of Destructoid writes:

"After an excruciatingly long countdown, Interceptor Entertainment's cheeky teaser site has been updated to reveal Bombshell, the best little non-Duke Nukem game that's actually Duke Nukem in Texas we could have asked for.

The reveal trailer features a svelte beauty with a rugged mechanical arm that looks capable of transforming into several armaments -- I'm thinking rocket launcher, perhaps? Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison (Tank Girl?) is a no-nonsense Bomb Disposal Specialist turned mercenary-for-hire who's traveling across four different planets in a bid to (surprise!) rescue the president from aliens. Bombshell is an isometric action role-playing game as well, so prepare for a different sort of violence than the running and gunning you may be used to."

And I couldn't be more pleased with the time warp...

The tags need to be adjusted. According to the actual site:

http://www.bombshellgame.co...

The only platform listed at the bottom of the page is PS4. We know that PC is included because the official description of the video submitted to Youtube by Interceptor lists both PC and PS4.

thejigisup3669d ago

If this is the 90's cab we have a new multiplayer fps southpark game?

Godmars2903669d ago

Then it turns out her boyfriend/husband is actually her cybernetic arm...

LordMaim3669d ago

God, that ending still hurts my senses. Who could ever have thought that was a good plot twist?

nope1113668d ago

That literally made me vomit.

AnotherProGamer3668d ago

if that were true the arm would try trying to touch her boob or go down here pants

veegeeeffex3669d ago

Wow, that's a terrible trailer. Intern-class character design and animation aside... there was no real content to speak of.

Godmars2903669d ago

But a caption said in game footage so it must be true

She looks borderline cheesy as a character. The designer tried too hard to make her look badass. OMG, she drinks Jack Daniels and has a "no fate" etched into her robot arm. Must be a badass. I guess it was done on purpose since it's very reminiscence of the 90s Duke Nukem era attitude.

It's like if Rob Liefeld directed a videogame.

3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks Suffer a Second Round of Layoffs at Embracer's Hands

3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks have suffered from a second round of layoffs following one that hit both companies in the middle of December.

jznrpg148d ago

The only news coming from Embracer is canceled games, closed studios and layoffs. That’s what happen when you accumulate to many studios at once. There’s another company that will be doing the same thing here over the next handful of years especially if daddy’s money doesn’t bail them out.

porkChop147d ago

They're not crumbling specifically because they acquired so many studios. It's because they built everything up based on a $2B investment and didn't have any plan in place to pivot if the deal fell through, which it did. They were reckless and stupid.

GaboonViper148d ago

Bastards, i really fear for our industry.

Embracer Hits 3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks With Layoffs

More layoffs at Embracer Group, as the publisher as reportedly fired half of 3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks.

BeHunted167d ago

Why? They're a business trying to maximise their profits.

Chard166d ago

^ didn't realise CEO's posted on here

SimpleSlave167d ago (Edited 167d ago )

Hope that the ones fire are the Decision makers in Slipgate Ironworks and those responsible for greenlighting those decisions over at 3D Realms. Cuz they are mediocre at what they do...

Lol!! What am I even saying? Their just gonna fire all the people actually working hard on the games instead. Oopsie! My bad.

Monopoly and Consolidation of the game industry is Nooice!!!

Jingsing166d ago

They embraced everyone and produced nothing.

BABI-PANGPANG166d ago

More games for their Early Access Limbo? Nooice!

SimpleSlave286d ago

You know it. Gotta keep that Train a Rollin' bay bay! Choo! Choo!

mastershredder286d ago

Yeah looks 3D realms alright, just a tad up from Running with scissors. Fitting as a $20.00 budget tile (current gen), or a $60.00 switch release.

lio_convoy285d ago

I guess we should see these games in about another 20 years after another development company picks up the pieces and finishes them.
