Final Fantasy XIII Producer Is Not Enemies With FF Versus XIII Director, 'Kay?

Yoshinori Kitase, director of Final Fantasy VII and Chrono Trigger, and fellow colleague Tetsuya Nomura, character designer for FFVII, are rumored to be bitter rivals. Word has it that since the two are unable to work together, each of them are making separate FFXIII games with Kitase producing Final Fantasy XIII and Nomura directing Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Kitase says otherwise in a recent interview.

FFVII is a game that wasn't hyped or talked about like your describing these games we have yet to see, play or know much about.

FVII is my fav game of all time and I hope, you don't think it's because of graphics is what will make FFVIII Great.

FVII was all about the Story..that hooked many and bad ass character like CLOUD.

@Kefka Palazzo Below, see I'm a Turn-Based Jrpg gamer myself. I find Action Based jRPGs just too easy. LO is still the best JRPG I've played since FFX. Hope you don't listen to fanboys that play one Jrpg Franchise. Lovers of Jrpgs will know where I'm coming from.

I think FF12 is a pathetic game.

The makers of FF12 continuaslly set low standards for the game and then consistently fail to achieve them. This happens everytime

Oh yes it's so pathetic that it sold over 7 million copies worldwide and won game of the year like 10 times and also currently holds a 92% overall average on Metacritic.

Just because YOU can't seem to handle the fact that Square-Enix aren't like everybody else and they like to try new things doesn't mean you should throw around your opinion like it's a fact. FFXII was a massive achievement, whether you like it or not. Take your crying elsewhere.

The story got fn dry and Corny.

However, I think Nomura is a better game designer, and over all, The JRPG genre's Great Hope of surviving in this gen. After all, Final Fantasy became Most popular when Nomura started doing the character designs, this game is known as "Final Fantasy VII" :D

Kingdom Hearts, a game many people thought wasn't going to be deep, or fun for anyone above the age of 10 before the first one came out, were totally proved wrong, via Nomura's Awesomeness.

And, on top of all this, More people are interested in Final Fantasy Versus XIII than Final Fantasy XIII. In fact, many people will buy FFXIII to keep them busy until Versus comes out.

I cant wait for either of them, but to be honest i'm looking more forward to FF versus XIII, than i am FFXIII, i guess because the "versus" in the title makes me think of how much difference there will be in between the 2 games and supposedly versus *might* be rated for Mature only due to the fact that on one of the trailers the prince impails a soldier guy, a scene that's hardly noticeable (to me anyways) if you look close enough. I dont know, I cant wait for either of them. Just more curious about Versus i guess.

Funny how ppl think they are enemies. Kitase-san has made it clear that he wants to make a FF7 remake and to do that he would have to work with Nomura-san so if they hated each other neither would want to be part of the project. Which as we can see isn't the case as they have both said they are interested and its just a matter of getting the original team back together at the same time.
