Part of a retro revival sweeping the world of videogames, Golden Axe: Beast Rider returns to the classic arcade action game with an eye for glitzy graphics and visceral combat. Sticking close to the series roots by offering obscure character cameos and the same scantily-clad hero, Golden Axe is shaping up to be a decent hack and slash even if it won't entirely appease its hardcore contingent.
Okay, Sega. the devs of Streets of Rage 4 together and let's make a new Golden Axe happen.
Not every game made the transition to 3D as smoothly as Mario or Zelda. Here are 15 games that made the worst transition from 2D to 3D.
Why do you have a screen from Street Fighter X Tekken for Street Fighter EX?
Joe from GamersFTW writes about 5 of the worst games that have happened as a result of rebooting a video game franchise
Can someone put a pillow over Sonic's face and hold it down until he stops struggling? It'll be an act of kindness.
So many disappointments. It's so sad when a well loved franchise looks like it's dying in front of your eyes. (I miss you Sonic, I hope you come back some day)
I dunno, I think these games are great in a certain way. They're a fantastic counter argument against reboots in general and that at least is something
Hmmm... not sure about this one. Might be worth a rental.
Heres to hoping the game is a little more inspired than what it seems so far.
"Firstly, cooperative play has been completely removed from the game in favor of a solo experience. It's a disappointing departure from the arcade original. Second, the subtle complexity of the tempo-based combat system could go either way—a nuanced way of pulling off advanced, cinematic moves or a lackluster mechanic that makes button-mashing more attractive."
Found that interesting and disappointing at the same time. No co-op sucks, but if the combat system works well and the flow is good then it will make up for it.
This one might actually be good. It would be really nice to see sega revitalized. Maybe some of the good ol glory days will come back... RPGs next sega please!
I was having flashbacks and enjoying the thought of playing a new version of Golden axe, but now you say there is no co op? That seems strange and way off what the old game was about.
as you know this fn GENRE is dieing. (Old-School Beatem up)
So I'll get this game if is decent.
