TeamXbox: Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. Hands-On Preview

TeamXbox writes: "'High Altitude Warfare - Experimental Squadron.' That's what the title of Ubisoft's new Ace Combat-killer stands for-though I guess the more accurate acronym "H.A.W.E.S." doesn't sound quite as cool. Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. not only sounds good, but the game itself looks good, plays really well and actually puts some decent storyline behind the high-flying action. Featuring over 50 flyable real world aircraft, real locations such as Rio De Janiero and Afghanistan, and highly accurate satellite mapping data, H.A.W.X. is looking better that your average Afterburner knockoff.

Set in the near future of 2012, H.A.W.X. takes place in a world where traditional nation states have transferred much of their military power to private military contractors (PMC) because of budgetary concerns and a reduced ability to recruit qualified citizens into their armies. So they've come to rely more and more on these PMCs, resulting in mercenary corporations with incredible skills, scope and power. They're no longer just groups of highly trained foot soldiers, but well-moneyed entities capable of supplying themselves with big time equipment like…oh, I don't know, fighter jets?"

I remember buying Hawx2 back on PS3 after Microsoft bought exclusivity of Ace Combat6.

So to fill that dog fighting space I bought Hawx2, a very basic game that only had a gimmick of evasion that was overused if I remember correctly. I never even finished the game and still own it and my super slim ps3 so who knows I might pop it in one day and see if I can feel the need, I he need for speed.

Well, I don't know if it also works like this the other way around but here goes; When a US price is revealed, they just use the swticheroo and replace the $ with € sign. American price might just be $15 :)

RXL4326d ago

converted it and it's 18 bucks..rounding up...plus tax..it'll be around 22...25 dollars..

that's considering the dollar right now...

Sensu4326d ago

Wow, that would be bad luck for the americans. Sure don't hope the prices end up that high!
