PS4 Valkyria Chronicles Trilogy Rumor Makes Hearts Jump: Unfortunately it’s Fake

If you love the Valkyria Chronicles series, your heart possibly had a jump of joy this morning, as a rumor was posted on NeoGAF hinting to a leak from this week’s Famitsu announcing a Valkyria Chronicles trilogy for PS4. The “news” were immediately reported by several news sites.

Unfortunately the leak is a tragic fake.

It's the reason the Dreamcast failed cause nobody over at Sega know what the heck they are doing. They can't even know how to handle their own IPs, they don't know what a good thing they have with Valkyria Chronicles.

The Dreamcast was a phenomenal machine with loads of good IP on it.

There were many factors why the DC failed - but the quality of titles was not one of them.

The failure of the DC caused Sega to get out of the hardware business - since then they've managed to screw up their key IP.

Sega should jump on the bandwagon of releasing remastered HD versions of their old IP (similar to what Capcom have done with Strider). They have dipped their toes in, with the Outrun remake, and also they've hit iOS pretty hard - but they need to scale up to PS4 / XB1.

These budget titles would secure a steady income, and allow them to focus on one (or two) massive releases per year (like Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star, Valkyria Chronicles etc)

My heart skipped a beat at the headline, then I died a little inside after reading the description. A trilogy remake would be awesome. I've yet to play the third game, and it was one of the best games of last gen for me.
