The kitty! She has no mouth!
In one of my beginning art classes at UMD, we had a project where we were asked to reinterpret a cultural icon. One of my classmates chose Hello Kitty. She painted Hello Kitty with the Spanish word for "silence" above. Her thesis was that Hello Kitty was the ideal submissive Japanese woman and that only in a male dominated society could such an icon be created. Her idea centered on the fact that Hello Kitty has no mouth implying that she is better seen and not heard.
There's a rumor on Twitter (news story here: http://n4g.com/news/719582/... ) so persistent that it's caused "Satoshi Tajiri," the creator of the game Pokemon, to become a Twitter Trend over the assertion that he, as well as "Hello Kitty" character creator Yuko Yamaguchi died.
Both Satoshi Tajiri and Yuko Yamaguchi are still alive.
Curtis Pyke, aka Big C, does a hilarious video review of the recently released Herro Kitty Online.
Funny ftw!
Game Rant: Overall this is a great game for anyone who enjoys Hello Kitty, especially younger kids. The social integration and educational plots are great for everyone.
